00:00:01 --> 00:00:04 And welcome to a new episode of Digital Coffee
00:00:04 --> 00:00:07 Gaming Brew, and I'm your host, Brett Deister.
00:00:07 --> 00:00:09 Please subscribe to this podcast and all your
00:00:09 --> 00:00:11 favorite podcasting apps. The five star reveal
00:00:11 --> 00:00:13 really just help with the rankings and let me
00:00:13 --> 00:00:16 know how I'm doing. But this week we're talking
00:00:16 --> 00:00:20 about Marvel Rivals. The last was part two remastered
00:00:20 --> 00:00:23 because I mean, we got a re -re -re -master or
00:00:23 --> 00:00:27 re -re -re -release. A game that's not even that
00:00:27 --> 00:00:33 old. Helldivers 2. We also got Lenovo Legion
00:00:33 --> 00:00:37 Go S. Let's talk about Wolfenstein, The Old Blood,
00:00:38 --> 00:00:42 Night Dive Studio announcing System Shock 2 Remastered,
00:00:42 --> 00:00:47 and also Game Overview, FBC Firebreak. And then
00:00:47 --> 00:00:52 we will be talking about Assassin's Creed Shadows
00:00:52 --> 00:00:55 and the reviews and why you probably should be
00:00:55 --> 00:00:57 playing another game that actually is better.
00:00:58 --> 00:01:05 Anyways, let's get on with the show. Hmm. That's
00:01:05 --> 00:01:13 good. All right. So specifically talking and
00:01:13 --> 00:01:15 it seems like they were at the GDC when they
00:01:15 --> 00:01:18 were talking about this, but there was significant
00:01:18 --> 00:01:21 interest in Invisible Woman once it was out and
00:01:21 --> 00:01:26 it led to about 3000 % increase in Google searches
00:01:26 --> 00:01:28 after the announcement of the Fantastic Four.
00:01:29 --> 00:01:32 The executive approves. producer of Marvel Rivals
00:01:32 --> 00:01:35 know that the spike in searches during a discussion
00:01:35 --> 00:01:37 at the GDC of the game is recognized for its
00:01:37 --> 00:01:39 chaotic fights and unique hero builds with Mr.
00:01:40 --> 00:01:42 Fantastic's abilities being particularly highlighted
00:01:42 --> 00:01:47 by players. And the other interesting part was
00:01:47 --> 00:01:51 that Invisible Woman's malice skin is an evil
00:01:51 --> 00:01:53 alter ego costume spark excitement among players,
00:01:53 --> 00:01:57 and many have influenced the search in searches.
00:01:58 --> 00:02:03 Also, They have identified a bug affecting Penny
00:02:03 --> 00:02:06 Parker's minds, making them vulnerable during
00:02:06 --> 00:02:09 gameplay. Penny Parker can deploy spider minds
00:02:09 --> 00:02:14 that are usually vulnerable when within her cyberwebs.
00:02:14 --> 00:02:17 The developer acknowledges the issue quickly
00:02:17 --> 00:02:20 and began working on fixes after community feedback.
00:02:21 --> 00:02:23 Within just over nine hours, the developer announced
00:02:23 --> 00:02:26 the bug was fixed, restoring a mind's invulnerability.
00:02:29 --> 00:02:31 I think Marvel Rivals is a great game. I think
00:02:31 --> 00:02:35 it's different enough from Overwatch 2 to compete,
00:02:35 --> 00:02:37 but it'll still differentiate itself from Overwatch
00:02:37 --> 00:02:41 2, since Overwatch 2 is mostly a first -person
00:02:41 --> 00:02:44 shooter with a few exceptions, and Marvel Rivals
00:02:44 --> 00:02:49 is a third -person shooter with some first -person
00:02:49 --> 00:02:51 views. So there are differences, but there also
00:02:51 --> 00:02:54 are some similarities between it. The main difference
00:02:54 --> 00:02:57 is that Marvel Rivals is in the Marvel universe
00:02:57 --> 00:03:01 and Overwatch is in its own specific, unique
00:03:01 --> 00:03:05 universe. The issues with Overwatch is that changing
00:03:05 --> 00:03:08 the format from 5v5 to 6v6 probably wasn't the
00:03:08 --> 00:03:13 best idea for it since the 6v6 is probably the
00:03:13 --> 00:03:17 best mode for these types of hero shooters. And
00:03:17 --> 00:03:20 I said this before prior, but once they actually
00:03:20 --> 00:03:22 did that, I said there was going to be massive,
00:03:22 --> 00:03:25 massive. reworks from a lot of heroes because
00:03:25 --> 00:03:30 a lot of heroes were specific for 6v6. So they
00:03:30 --> 00:03:35 just added more issues to their own plate that
00:03:35 --> 00:03:41 they didn't need to fix as much in 6v6. So when
00:03:41 --> 00:03:44 Marvel Ravus came on the scene, Blizzard's like,
00:03:44 --> 00:03:46 all right, we're going to try 6v6 again. All
00:03:46 --> 00:03:47 right, we're going to do this. All right, we're
00:03:47 --> 00:03:49 going to have perks. Now this could have been
00:03:49 --> 00:03:52 actually been working. for a while now, but it
00:03:52 --> 00:03:55 seems like it pushed them to focus on this stuff
00:03:55 --> 00:03:59 even more. So I'm happy that more that Blizzard
00:03:59 --> 00:04:01 is doing this, but almost happy that Marvel Rivals
00:04:01 --> 00:04:04 is doing what it needs to do to remain competitive
00:04:04 --> 00:04:06 and interesting at the same time, because they
00:04:06 --> 00:04:09 still have. To a certain extent, destructive
00:04:09 --> 00:04:12 environments they do regenerate after a while,
00:04:12 --> 00:04:14 so they do have very interesting things that
00:04:14 --> 00:04:17 are very different from Overwatch. which I do
00:04:17 --> 00:04:19 appreciate. In Overwatch, I appreciate that they
00:04:19 --> 00:04:22 have their own unique characters, their own unique
00:04:22 --> 00:04:28 designs. But they could do without the gender
00:04:28 --> 00:04:30 identity and all that stuff. Just make great
00:04:30 --> 00:04:34 characters. Now he's moving on to Last of Us
00:04:34 --> 00:04:38 Part 2 Remastered, the re -re -release of a game
00:04:38 --> 00:04:41 that, well, he wasn't that old because it was
00:04:41 --> 00:04:45 released in 2024 or 2023. It was released recently
00:04:45 --> 00:04:47 in the last five years, it's kind of annoying
00:04:47 --> 00:04:51 that they're doing this. I understand the original
00:04:51 --> 00:04:53 Last of Us, but then they did it like four times
00:04:53 --> 00:04:56 too. So it's like kind of like stop, just like
00:04:56 --> 00:04:58 stop remastering things that are not that old.
00:04:59 --> 00:05:01 People don't need that. They need the old games
00:05:01 --> 00:05:06 to be remastered. So like Legends of the Dragoon,
00:05:06 --> 00:05:09 Sony, get a hint. That one was good. You should
00:05:09 --> 00:05:11 remaster because that was in the PlayStation
00:05:11 --> 00:05:13 one, PlayStation two error. And I would like
00:05:13 --> 00:05:17 to see remastered of that one. But I digress.
00:05:18 --> 00:05:21 It comes out the last part to remaster comes
00:05:21 --> 00:05:27 out April 3rd, 2025 on PC. It also has new features
00:05:27 --> 00:05:30 like rogue like survival mode, no return guitar
00:05:30 --> 00:05:32 free play mode hours of developer commentary,
00:05:32 --> 00:05:36 because that's important, apparently. And It
00:05:36 --> 00:05:38 aims to enhance the visual experience of locations
00:05:38 --> 00:05:41 like Jackson, Wyoming and Seattle, Washington.
00:05:42 --> 00:05:45 The other thing is that they, if you do log into
00:05:45 --> 00:05:50 a PSN network, you get specific rewards or skins
00:05:50 --> 00:05:53 or unlocks or whatever. So you want to do that?
00:05:53 --> 00:05:58 You can. All right. Moving on to one of the head
00:05:58 --> 00:06:02 guys over at Hilldivers2. He was at the GDC and
00:06:02 --> 00:06:05 he was talking about by focusing on core gameplay
00:06:05 --> 00:06:07 rather than overwhelming players with features
00:06:07 --> 00:06:12 and microtransactions and how this will lead
00:06:12 --> 00:06:14 to an actual successful game. So basically he
00:06:14 --> 00:06:16 said that emphasize the importance of fundamental
00:06:16 --> 00:06:20 style and features in game development. He argues
00:06:20 --> 00:06:22 that many studios prioritize features over the
00:06:22 --> 00:06:25 fundamental elements of their games leading to
00:06:25 --> 00:06:28 misguided design choices. He used the car metaphor
00:06:28 --> 00:06:31 to say that trying to please everybody results
00:06:31 --> 00:06:35 in a product that satisfies no one. He critiques
00:06:35 --> 00:06:39 the industry tendency to copy successful features
00:06:39 --> 00:06:42 from other games without considering the core
00:06:42 --> 00:06:45 philosophy of their own titles. The success of
00:06:45 --> 00:06:47 Helldivers 2 is attributed to its clear vision
00:06:47 --> 00:06:50 and cohesive gameplay experience, blending different
00:06:50 --> 00:06:55 game styles effectively. His insight advocate
00:06:55 --> 00:06:57 for deeper understanding of studios core values
00:06:57 --> 00:07:00 and audience before implementing features basically
00:07:00 --> 00:07:03 saying that get the core that will make it fun
00:07:03 --> 00:07:06 the fun loop before you add all the extra features
00:07:06 --> 00:07:08 in the micro transaction because if nobody wants
00:07:08 --> 00:07:12 to play your game and nobody's having fun then
00:07:12 --> 00:07:14 you don't actually have a successful game because
00:07:14 --> 00:07:16 no one will play the game after a while they'll
00:07:16 --> 00:07:18 play for the first few months a new game will
00:07:18 --> 00:07:25 come out and you just wasted $300 million kind
00:07:25 --> 00:07:30 of like Assassin's Creed shadows on things that
00:07:30 --> 00:07:35 weren't needed. And a lot of game developers
00:07:35 --> 00:07:38 haven't figured this out yet. They've been prioritizing
00:07:38 --> 00:07:42 like gender ideology, diversity, and all this
00:07:42 --> 00:07:44 stuff, which really isn't the core of anything.
00:07:45 --> 00:07:51 It's just superficial nonsense. So figure out
00:07:51 --> 00:07:54 what the audience wants. figure out what you
00:07:54 --> 00:07:57 are and then merge the two. If you cannot merge
00:07:57 --> 00:07:58 the two, you're not going to have a successful
00:07:58 --> 00:08:05 game. Remember, you are trying to sell to your
00:08:05 --> 00:08:07 audience or convince your audience that the game
00:08:07 --> 00:08:10 that you made is a good game that they should
00:08:10 --> 00:08:14 spend their time playing and having fun. If you
00:08:14 --> 00:08:17 can't satisfy that message, you will never be
00:08:17 --> 00:08:24 successful in game development. Recent prior
00:08:24 --> 00:08:27 knowledge of Dragon Age the Veiled Guard and
00:08:27 --> 00:08:29 our failed guard, as some people on X have said,
00:08:30 --> 00:08:35 and Assassin's Creed Shadows shows the lack of
00:08:35 --> 00:08:37 understanding your core values and the lack of
00:08:37 --> 00:08:40 understanding what the audience deems as fun.
00:08:44 --> 00:08:47 So learn from their mistakes and you will be
00:08:47 --> 00:08:52 successful. All right, moving on to Lenovo Legion
00:08:52 --> 00:08:55 Go S, which is the first handheld to have Steam
00:08:55 --> 00:08:58 OS on it is available for pre -order on Best
00:08:58 --> 00:09:01 Buy if you want to. The base model is priced
00:09:01 --> 00:09:05 at 550, featuring 16 gigs of RAM, 512 gigabytes
00:09:05 --> 00:09:10 of SSD, and the 750 model offers 32 gigs of RAM
00:09:10 --> 00:09:12 and increased storage as well, includes a micro
00:09:12 --> 00:09:18 SD card slot for expandable storage and It is
00:09:18 --> 00:09:23 powered by the AMD Ryzen Z2 Go chip and AMD Radeon
00:09:23 --> 00:09:26 graphics and performance comparison with the
00:09:26 --> 00:09:28 SteamVac is not yet available, but also features
00:09:28 --> 00:09:33 an 8 -inch ISP display with 1200p resolution,
00:09:34 --> 00:09:39 120Hz refresh rate larger than the Steam Deck's
00:09:39 --> 00:09:47 7 -inch LCD 800p 60Hz and OLED 7 .4Hz inch with
00:09:47 --> 00:09:53 90 Hertz. So it is equipped with two USB ports,
00:09:54 --> 00:09:59 a 3 .5 millimeter audio jack, and the Steam Deck
00:09:59 --> 00:10:03 only provides one USB port, which is fine. I
00:10:03 --> 00:10:06 mean, I don't know why you need more than one
00:10:06 --> 00:10:08 on that device, but sure, you can always get
00:10:08 --> 00:10:11 a dock or anything like that. And it looks like
00:10:11 --> 00:10:13 there is a Windows version that's a lot more
00:10:13 --> 00:10:18 expensive, but Yeah, this looks good. I'm glad
00:10:18 --> 00:10:20 steam is finally releasing their steam OS to
00:10:20 --> 00:10:22 other handhelds I think it's gonna be a good
00:10:22 --> 00:10:26 way of getting Loosing that the choke hold that
00:10:26 --> 00:10:31 Windows or Microsoft has had on Just the PC environment
00:10:31 --> 00:10:33 for so long. Also, they could eventually actually
00:10:33 --> 00:10:38 get it to be able to play on desktops I may consider
00:10:38 --> 00:10:41 switching depending on how much how many softwares
00:10:41 --> 00:10:45 is available or I'll just dual boot and Do it
00:10:45 --> 00:10:48 that way So we'll see. But it did say that the
00:10:48 --> 00:10:52 Windows version of the Legion Go S has received
00:10:52 --> 00:10:55 poor reviews pitched at $730 with complaints
00:10:55 --> 00:10:58 about high cost. And that's the Windows version.
00:10:59 --> 00:11:01 So the Steam version, SteamOS version is going
00:11:01 --> 00:11:04 to be cheaper as the base model, but you can
00:11:04 --> 00:11:08 still, you can spend more to get 32 gigs of RAM
00:11:08 --> 00:11:10 and more internal storage. You also have the
00:11:10 --> 00:11:13 micro SD slot. So It could be an interesting
00:11:13 --> 00:11:16 thing. I'm just glad that it's happened because
00:11:16 --> 00:11:19 I'm pretty sure Microsoft's licensee fees probably
00:11:19 --> 00:11:21 makes it a lot more expensive. And that's why
00:11:21 --> 00:11:24 SteamOS might be a better alternative. If they
00:11:24 --> 00:11:29 have little to no licensing fees on it, it could
00:11:29 --> 00:11:32 be a game changer for at least the gaming industry,
00:11:32 --> 00:11:36 maybe a game changer for Linux. Because like
00:11:36 --> 00:11:40 I understand you, a lot of people are a small
00:11:40 --> 00:11:43 portion of the PC community uses Linux, but it's
00:11:43 --> 00:11:45 a very small portion. That's why there's not
00:11:45 --> 00:11:51 a lot of. Compatibility with software because
00:11:51 --> 00:11:56 Windows is so dominant in this space, but I always
00:11:56 --> 00:12:02 like it when new things come out that will. Let's
00:12:02 --> 00:12:06 say. Bring competition to Microsoft, because
00:12:06 --> 00:12:09 I do agree that they need competition. I mean.
00:12:09 --> 00:12:11 Windows 10 was great, but Windows 11 is not that
00:12:11 --> 00:12:15 good. I mean, I have to use like Stardux Fences,
00:12:15 --> 00:12:18 Stardux, WinStart 2 .0, like a lot of different
00:12:18 --> 00:12:25 things just to make it passable. Because they
00:12:25 --> 00:12:30 launched it and it just wasn't good. And it seems
00:12:30 --> 00:12:33 to be one Microsoft's thing. Like every other
00:12:33 --> 00:12:35 Windows release needs to be not very good. So
00:12:35 --> 00:12:37 you appreciate the good ones. The problem is
00:12:37 --> 00:12:41 that they in the end of life, the operating system,
00:12:41 --> 00:12:43 everybody's like, but I like this one. I don't
00:12:43 --> 00:12:47 like Windows 11. And I don't disagree with you.
00:12:47 --> 00:12:50 Like I said, I had to use like three Starbucks
00:12:50 --> 00:12:53 softwares just to make it like okay for me to
00:12:53 --> 00:12:59 use. So there you have it. All right, are you
00:12:59 --> 00:13:02 looking for a free game? Because you can get
00:13:02 --> 00:13:04 Wolfenstein, The Old Blood, which I highly recommend.
00:13:04 --> 00:13:08 free for Amazon Prime members until April 21st.
00:13:08 --> 00:13:11 So you've got Amazon Prime, you can get it for
00:13:11 --> 00:13:13 free. This is basically a prequel to the new
00:13:13 --> 00:13:16 order. So it's the prequel to the first game
00:13:16 --> 00:13:19 of the trilogy of the Wolfenstein made by Machine
00:13:19 --> 00:13:23 Gun Games. It's not, has nothing to do with id's
00:13:23 --> 00:13:26 version of it, which is prior to all this, but
00:13:26 --> 00:13:30 this one is good. The second one was just as
00:13:30 --> 00:13:34 good. The third one, no, wasn't good at all.
00:13:35 --> 00:13:38 But the prequel and the first game were probably
00:13:38 --> 00:13:41 the best. So I highly recommend you. If you haven't
00:13:41 --> 00:13:46 played it, get it. All right, moving on to Nightdive
00:13:46 --> 00:13:51 Studio has announced System Shock 2 Remastered.
00:13:51 --> 00:13:55 It will be released on June 26, 2025. It will
00:13:55 --> 00:13:58 be available on PlayStation, Xbox, Switch, which
00:13:58 --> 00:14:01 is a surprising NPC. It was initially announced
00:14:01 --> 00:14:04 in 2019 as System Shock 2 Enhanced Edition. It
00:14:04 --> 00:14:08 has been rebranded as System Shock 2 25th -Evers
00:14:08 --> 00:14:11 Remaster. Remaster follows the success release
00:14:11 --> 00:14:16 of System Shock 1 Remake in 2023. Promised enhancement
00:14:16 --> 00:14:18 include improved character models, weapon models,
00:14:18 --> 00:14:20 textures, cinematics, and animation. Quality
00:14:20 --> 00:14:22 of life improvements will feature optimized control
00:14:22 --> 00:14:25 support, updated co -op multiplayer achievements,
00:14:25 --> 00:14:30 PC players can expect mod support and up to 144
00:14:30 --> 00:14:34 frames per second and ultra wide compatibility.
00:14:35 --> 00:14:37 The game retains the original story story featuring
00:14:37 --> 00:14:41 the rogue AI showdown and players navigating
00:14:41 --> 00:14:47 FTL ship Von Braun in 2114. Yes, it is highly
00:14:47 --> 00:14:50 recommended if you look kind of like the more
00:14:50 --> 00:14:58 harder. I would call it like. RPG like elements
00:14:58 --> 00:15:01 with like first person mode in it. It's a very
00:15:01 --> 00:15:03 good game. It was very good game when it came
00:15:03 --> 00:15:06 out. It was one of the few, it was before Deus
00:15:06 --> 00:15:09 Ex but it was in the vein of a lot of the Warren
00:15:09 --> 00:15:15 Specter and Kevin Levine I think. There were
00:15:15 --> 00:15:17 two like high priority ones that went off to
00:15:17 --> 00:15:20 be really successful made these games. They were
00:15:20 --> 00:15:23 really good games. They had really good stories,
00:15:23 --> 00:15:25 really strong stories, really good combat. It
00:15:25 --> 00:15:29 was hard as hell, as I remember as a kid, but
00:15:29 --> 00:15:31 it's coming out. And so I highly recommend if
00:15:31 --> 00:15:32 you haven't gotten the first one and get the
00:15:32 --> 00:15:35 first one as well. It's just these games are
00:15:35 --> 00:15:37 really, really good and they're really good for
00:15:37 --> 00:15:40 a reason. And they're basically like the pinnacle
00:15:40 --> 00:15:45 of what gaming can be. Even in the 90s in the
00:15:45 --> 00:15:50 early 2000s. All right, some gameplay overview.
00:15:50 --> 00:15:53 So first off is FBC Firebreak. It's a three -person
00:15:53 --> 00:15:56 co -op, first -person shooter set in the Control's
00:15:56 --> 00:16:01 oldest house, releasing in summer 2025. Players
00:16:01 --> 00:16:03 act as volunteer first responders addressing
00:16:03 --> 00:16:07 the HISS crisis within the Federal Bureau of
00:16:07 --> 00:16:13 Control. Jobs. The game represent missions with
00:16:13 --> 00:16:16 unique crises to involve, including a job called
00:16:16 --> 00:16:20 paper chase set in the executive sector. Threat
00:16:20 --> 00:16:22 and clearance levels players select a threat
00:16:22 --> 00:16:25 level to determine combat difficulty and reward,
00:16:25 --> 00:16:28 along with clearance level accessing zones and
00:16:28 --> 00:16:31 rewards. Players can choose from three crisis
00:16:31 --> 00:16:36 kits, jump kit, electricity focus with electro
00:16:36 --> 00:16:39 kinetic charge impactor, fixed kit equipped with
00:16:39 --> 00:16:43 a wrench or Manor splash kit water focus with
00:16:43 --> 00:16:48 a crank operated fluid ejector post slash content.
00:16:48 --> 00:16:51 The game will be a premium mid price release
00:16:51 --> 00:16:53 with free post launch content for all players,
00:16:53 --> 00:16:57 plus optional cosmetic purchases. Long term support
00:16:57 --> 00:17:00 remedy plans to support FBC firebreak for the
00:17:00 --> 00:17:03 long term with concrete plans for future content.
00:17:04 --> 00:17:07 And then the availability is PC, PS5, Xbox Series
00:17:07 --> 00:17:11 X and S, Game Pass Ultimate and PlayStation Plus
00:17:11 --> 00:17:16 Extra and premium tiers. For PC, it's also on
00:17:16 --> 00:17:19 Epic and Steam because I did actually wishlist
00:17:19 --> 00:17:21 it because I wasn't sure because Remedy has been
00:17:21 --> 00:17:23 more exclusive with Epic, but I don't think it's
00:17:23 --> 00:17:25 actually helped them whatsoever. So they might
00:17:25 --> 00:17:28 have gone back to that. We're like, no, that's
00:17:28 --> 00:17:32 good. Looks interesting. Looks in a similar vein
00:17:32 --> 00:17:34 of Left 4 Dead, but not really Left 4 Dead because
00:17:34 --> 00:17:36 it's in their own universe. We'll see how well
00:17:36 --> 00:17:40 this actually does, but what I saw was interesting
00:17:40 --> 00:17:44 with the Post -it notes and apparently it will
00:17:44 --> 00:17:48 stick on you and it was chaotic. It looked like
00:17:48 --> 00:17:49 chaotic fun to be honest with you, but we'll
00:17:49 --> 00:17:54 see how well it actually does. All right, moving
00:17:54 --> 00:17:59 on to Sesame Creed Shadow reviews. So apparently
00:17:59 --> 00:18:02 the Gaming Media Press loves it. They say it's
00:18:02 --> 00:18:07 the best. It's back to form. It's all these things
00:18:07 --> 00:18:10 that aren't really actually true because there's
00:18:10 --> 00:18:12 gay sex scenes in there because that actually
00:18:12 --> 00:18:17 makes a lot of sense in that time. There is some
00:18:17 --> 00:18:22 bugs and they actually had to do a day one pass
00:18:22 --> 00:18:24 to make sure that you wouldn't desecrate the
00:18:24 --> 00:18:28 Japanese shrines. It just seemed like a mess.
00:18:28 --> 00:18:30 It seemed like parkour wasn't great. It seems
00:18:30 --> 00:18:33 like combat was not very good as well. Now from
00:18:33 --> 00:18:36 the graphics and design team and design, like
00:18:36 --> 00:18:39 the historical things, they did a fantastic job
00:18:39 --> 00:18:40 from what I looked at. It looks great. It looks
00:18:40 --> 00:18:43 amazing. The problem is the story does not look
00:18:43 --> 00:18:46 good. The character models do not look good.
00:18:47 --> 00:18:53 The gay stuff, why is it in there? Like what
00:18:53 --> 00:18:57 point are you proving? I don't really understand
00:18:57 --> 00:18:59 these points anymore. It's just it's a nauseating
00:18:59 --> 00:19:01 thing where I'm like, well, I guess I'm not buying
00:19:01 --> 00:19:05 that. And SteamDB is not looking at it favorably.
00:19:06 --> 00:19:08 I know some of the press has been like, oh, look,
00:19:08 --> 00:19:14 it's on par with this when Assassin's Creed Valhalla
00:19:14 --> 00:19:19 came out on Steam. But the problem is the steam
00:19:19 --> 00:19:22 numbers are misleading and the article is misleading
00:19:22 --> 00:19:25 because Assassin's Creed Valhalla came out Couple
00:19:25 --> 00:19:28 years later than when actually officially launched
00:19:28 --> 00:19:31 because it was only on you play that you can
00:19:31 --> 00:19:33 actually play most of these games So I don't
00:19:33 --> 00:19:36 really understand that argument and then PC gamer
00:19:36 --> 00:19:39 came out and was like, oh well I don't think
00:19:39 --> 00:19:43 Ubisoft will ever play or ever make a great RPG
00:19:43 --> 00:19:45 game and I'm like, yeah, uh -huh. It's not that
00:19:45 --> 00:19:51 good Here's my thing Go get ghost to Shima and
00:19:51 --> 00:19:56 get that instead a lot better one character.
00:19:56 --> 00:19:58 You don't have to worry about the other one.
00:19:59 --> 00:20:02 He does basically both of what the two characters
00:20:02 --> 00:20:06 from Assassin's Creed does. Treats Japanese culture
00:20:06 --> 00:20:12 with respect, unlike Assassin's Creed. It's a
00:20:12 --> 00:20:15 Japanese dude. And the story's more interesting
00:20:15 --> 00:20:19 of him trying to navigate samurai culture with
00:20:19 --> 00:20:28 trying to save Japan. So samurai culture is basically
00:20:28 --> 00:20:33 like, don't be an assassin. Don't kill, I guess,
00:20:34 --> 00:20:37 kill with honor. So basically don't be stealth,
00:20:37 --> 00:20:39 like always be out in the open and kill a bunch
00:20:39 --> 00:20:44 of people. And he kind of doesn't do that because
00:20:44 --> 00:20:46 he wants to save his country and he wants to
00:20:46 --> 00:20:51 be smart about how to fight the Mongols. So it's
00:20:51 --> 00:20:56 a very interesting game. that I like because
00:20:56 --> 00:21:00 it it treats it with reverence and respect. And
00:21:00 --> 00:21:02 it's also just really, really good. And it does
00:21:02 --> 00:21:06 a better job of an Assassin's Creed game in Japan
00:21:06 --> 00:21:09 than Assassin's Creed Shadow does. And it came
00:21:09 --> 00:21:14 out way before it, too. Now, Ghost of Utah, we
00:21:14 --> 00:21:16 won't discuss that because I'm not really quite
00:21:16 --> 00:21:17 sure if that's actually going to be good or not.
00:21:17 --> 00:21:19 But at least this one is actually really good.
00:21:20 --> 00:21:22 It does have a multiplayer mode. It's it's all
00:21:22 --> 00:21:25 right. But the Main single player component of
00:21:25 --> 00:21:31 it is way better Like miles ahead better like
00:21:31 --> 00:21:35 Just get that game You will not be disappointed
00:21:35 --> 00:21:38 if you get ghost of Toshima because it's just
00:21:38 --> 00:21:40 a really good game. I think I've completed like
00:21:40 --> 00:21:43 three or four times It's amazing. It's kind of
00:21:43 --> 00:21:47 up there with me like which Witcher 3 and shadows
00:21:47 --> 00:21:55 of Mordor shadows of war doesn't have any of
00:21:55 --> 00:21:57 that weird stuff in there, surprisingly, but
00:21:57 --> 00:21:59 it also came out. It was also in development
00:21:59 --> 00:22:02 before all the weird stuff was more prevalent.
00:22:02 --> 00:22:05 So that's why it's actually a good game because
00:22:05 --> 00:22:07 they actually understood their core values and
00:22:07 --> 00:22:09 understood the core mechanics of a game that
00:22:09 --> 00:22:18 people would actually find fun. So that would
00:22:18 --> 00:22:23 be my recommendation. Don't get Assassin's Creed
00:22:23 --> 00:22:26 shadows and probably tell like It's at least
00:22:26 --> 00:22:28 on a 50 % discount or does the dragon age veil
00:22:28 --> 00:22:32 garden gives you for free on PlayStation Which
00:22:32 --> 00:22:36 still nobody played But that's where we're at
00:22:36 --> 00:22:38 where we have to pick and choose now I rather
00:22:38 --> 00:22:41 play Adam fall over Assassin's Creed shadows
00:22:41 --> 00:22:43 Which this is actually the first Assassin's Creed
00:22:43 --> 00:22:49 game. I haven't actually gotten employed So if
00:22:49 --> 00:22:51 you still want to play it More power to you,
00:22:51 --> 00:22:54 but I just don't see the point of it anymore
00:22:54 --> 00:22:58 and Ubisoft is not in the best financial state
00:22:58 --> 00:23:01 right now either So they're probably gonna go
00:23:01 --> 00:23:05 under So and enjoy probably the last few games
00:23:05 --> 00:23:08 of Ubisoft because I don't see them surviving
00:23:08 --> 00:23:13 this at all Anyways, what do you think you think
00:23:13 --> 00:23:17 I'm crazy about all this or do you think? Assassin's
00:23:17 --> 00:23:18 Creed Shadows is going to be one of the best
00:23:18 --> 00:23:20 games ever. Let me know in the comments below,
00:23:21 --> 00:23:25 but thank you for listening to Digital Coffee
00:23:25 --> 00:23:28 Gaming Brew. I really do appreciate it. And as

00:23:33 --> 00:23:36 and join me next week as I talk about what's
