In this episode of Digital Coffee Gaming Brew, Brett Deister discusses the end of the SAG-AFTRA strike over AI voice replication, dives into gameplay and community feedback for 'Dune: Awakening,' and critiques the reveal of 'Call of Duty: Black Ops 7.' He highlights various showcases from Microsoft, Ubisoft, and reveals his excitement for 'Blood of the Dawn Walker' led by the former director of 'The Witcher 3.' Brett also talks about new gameplay updates from 'Neverwinter Nights 2 Enhanced Edition,' and the intriguing but troubled 'MindsEye.' The show explores recent layoffs at Bend Studio and discusses insights into EA's handling of 'Dragon Age: The Veil Guard.' Additionally, there is coverage of the controversy surrounding 1047 Games' 'Make FPS Great Again' slogan. Rounding out the episode are updates on 'Rainbow Six Siege X,' 'Warhammer 40K: Space Marines 2,' and GOG's new 'One Click Mods' feature. Brett ties everything up with a reflection on the evolving market dynamics favoring AA games over AAA titles.

00:00:00 --> 00:00:03 And welcome to a new episode of Digital Coffee
00:00:03 --> 00:00:06 Gaming Brew, and I'm your host, Brett Deister.
00:00:06 --> 00:00:07 If you could please subscribe to this podcast
00:00:07 --> 00:00:10 on all your favorite podcasting apps. Leave a
00:00:10 --> 00:00:11 five -star review. It really does help with the
00:00:11 --> 00:00:16 rankings. And let me know how I am doing. But
00:00:16 --> 00:00:19 this week, we're gonna be talking about, well,
00:00:19 --> 00:00:22 it looks like the sag after a strike is going
00:00:22 --> 00:00:25 to be no more. We're gonna be talking a little
00:00:25 --> 00:00:26 bit about Dune Awakening. I've been playing a
00:00:26 --> 00:00:30 bunch of it, talking about... Different showcases
00:00:30 --> 00:00:32 that happened last weekend that I didn't really
00:00:32 --> 00:00:36 get a chance to talk about it was It wasn't bad.
00:00:37 --> 00:00:39 It was wasn't great to me. I mean there were
00:00:39 --> 00:00:41 some interesting games Gog are good old games
00:00:41 --> 00:00:44 doing a one -click mods gonna talk about that.
00:00:44 --> 00:00:46 We're also gonna be talking about Dungeons and
00:00:46 --> 00:00:51 Dragons never winter nights schedule one And
00:00:51 --> 00:00:55 the new update that should be interesting as
00:00:55 --> 00:00:59 well. We're also gonna be talking about Well,
00:01:00 --> 00:01:06 the make FFPS great again. I don't really understand
00:01:06 --> 00:01:07 why there's a controversy, but apparently you
00:01:07 --> 00:01:09 had to apologize and why you should never apologize
00:01:09 --> 00:01:14 to the crazy lunatics. Also again, some layoffs
00:01:14 --> 00:01:17 happening in the gaming industry just never seems
00:01:17 --> 00:01:19 to stop just about every month or every other
00:01:19 --> 00:01:22 month. There seems to be something Rainbow Six
00:01:22 --> 00:01:25 Siege X talk about a little bit about that and
00:01:26 --> 00:01:30 Just some weird things going on with Dragon Age
00:01:30 --> 00:01:34 the Veil Guard and just how EA is still isn't
00:01:34 --> 00:01:38 really understanding it Warhammer 40k Space Marines
00:01:38 --> 00:01:41 2 and the new sales update mines eyes out and
00:01:41 --> 00:01:50 well Yeah, and then Just let's get on with the
00:01:50 --> 00:02:10 show Mm, that's good. All right, I hope you're
00:02:10 --> 00:02:13 having a great Friday and you're gonna have an
00:02:13 --> 00:02:17 even better weekend. But first off is the SAC
00:02:17 --> 00:02:19 -AFTRA has reached a tentative deal with video
00:02:19 --> 00:02:21 game companies regarding the interactive media
00:02:21 --> 00:02:23 contract. Voice actors have been on strike since
00:02:23 --> 00:02:27 July, 2024. The primary issue of the strike was
00:02:27 --> 00:02:30 protection of actors from companies using generative
00:02:30 --> 00:02:33 AI technology to replicate their voices without
00:02:33 --> 00:02:36 compensation. consent I think it's mostly spin
00:02:36 --> 00:02:40 specifically that which I'm never usually a bigger
00:02:40 --> 00:02:44 the biggest fans of unions specifically because
00:02:44 --> 00:02:50 unions usually protect the weakest of their their
00:02:50 --> 00:02:52 unions so the people that are usually the laziest
00:02:52 --> 00:02:53 the people that don't really do great work they
00:02:53 --> 00:02:57 protect those And it doesn't really help the
00:02:57 --> 00:02:58 people that are doing great work for the most
00:02:58 --> 00:03:00 part. Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't.
00:03:00 --> 00:03:03 It really just depends on the union. But from
00:03:03 --> 00:03:06 what I've seen over the years, they usually are
00:03:06 --> 00:03:10 slow to innovate and usually will have a tight
00:03:10 --> 00:03:14 grip on innovation in general. Is this a bad
00:03:14 --> 00:03:17 idea? No, it's not. I mean, you got to protect
00:03:17 --> 00:03:20 yourself and your voice from alternative AI because
00:03:20 --> 00:03:22 it's easy to copy it. And it's never really fun
00:03:22 --> 00:03:26 to do that. So I'm not against it. No one really
00:03:26 --> 00:03:28 knew that they were still on strike because games
00:03:28 --> 00:03:30 kept on coming out and I'm pretty sure they would
00:03:30 --> 00:03:33 have found a way of just having like silent protagonist
00:03:33 --> 00:03:37 again, so Have non -voice actors, I don't really
00:03:37 --> 00:03:42 know But it's good. It's good to know All right
00:03:42 --> 00:03:45 moving on to Dune awakening and I've been playing
00:03:45 --> 00:03:47 a bunch of it. It's actually a pretty fun game
00:03:47 --> 00:03:49 I'm still in the beginning ish of it. I think
00:03:49 --> 00:03:52 I'm in the second part of it and when I still
00:03:52 --> 00:03:56 have to figure out where the other Trial is the
00:03:56 --> 00:03:58 second trial, but I've been doing a bunch. I've
00:03:58 --> 00:04:03 been building my base. I've been making Well
00:04:03 --> 00:04:06 making things just getting destroyed I tried
00:04:06 --> 00:04:10 to beat the Sandstorm and that did not go home
00:04:10 --> 00:04:11 while I lost everything I had to rebuild everything
00:04:11 --> 00:04:15 which wasn't the fun thing to do but that's the
00:04:15 --> 00:04:18 part of dune is to not be eaten by sand worms
00:04:18 --> 00:04:21 and to not be in the sandstorm because that thing
00:04:21 --> 00:04:23 will kill you pretty quick but all in all it's
00:04:23 --> 00:04:27 a pretty fun game it's for the most part pretty
00:04:27 --> 00:04:31 solo friendly but it seems like towards the end
00:04:31 --> 00:04:35 you have to join a guild and players are kind
00:04:35 --> 00:04:38 of upset that it really does prioritize larger
00:04:38 --> 00:04:42 guilds over solo or smaller guilds so we'll see
00:04:42 --> 00:04:45 once i eventually get to it but All in all, it's
00:04:45 --> 00:04:47 a pretty good game for just how built up it is
00:04:47 --> 00:04:50 and how long it seems like it's going to take
00:04:50 --> 00:04:53 just to like do everything. So I'm actually not
00:04:53 --> 00:04:55 disappointed with it. There are some, a few issues
00:04:55 --> 00:04:59 I've had with jittering and just seems like lag
00:04:59 --> 00:05:03 on the server side of it. But beyond that, it's
00:05:03 --> 00:05:06 kind of like the give and take of MMOs and just
00:05:06 --> 00:05:09 that type of thing. The combat is okay. I don't
00:05:09 --> 00:05:11 really like the knife fights. They're kind of
00:05:11 --> 00:05:13 annoying and they're not really the best. To
00:05:13 --> 00:05:17 me the gunplay is fine. It's not terrible. It's
00:05:17 --> 00:05:20 not great. It's just it's just not the fun part
00:05:20 --> 00:05:22 about it But I mean you got to have combat. I
00:05:22 --> 00:05:26 just wish it was a little bit more Interactive
00:05:26 --> 00:05:30 or a little bit more it was better in the combat
00:05:30 --> 00:05:31 especially the melee one because you basically
00:05:31 --> 00:05:34 just have a light and a strong attack and that's
00:05:34 --> 00:05:36 really about it and you kind of use the strong
00:05:36 --> 00:05:38 attack to kill people with shields because the
00:05:38 --> 00:05:42 guns will not go through the shields and it's
00:05:42 --> 00:05:45 just Like I said, it's just one of those things.
00:05:45 --> 00:05:49 So we'll see if they fine tune that. But yeah,
00:05:49 --> 00:05:52 right now that's probably the weakest part is
00:05:52 --> 00:05:55 that. All right, so Microsoft did their showcase
00:05:55 --> 00:05:58 and one of the bigger ones was Call of Duty Black
00:05:58 --> 00:06:02 Ops 7 and I am still not really caring about
00:06:02 --> 00:06:05 it. Now it's gonna be in the future in 2035 featuring
00:06:05 --> 00:06:08 David Mason as a protagonist. Activision marketing
00:06:08 --> 00:06:12 strategy for Black Ops 7 involves minimal pre
00:06:12 --> 00:06:15 -promotion aiming for a surprise launch similar
00:06:15 --> 00:06:19 to Beyonce album drop. Look, it's not surprise
00:06:19 --> 00:06:22 when you release the game every year. There is
00:06:22 --> 00:06:25 no surprise. I don't really understand this.
00:06:25 --> 00:06:28 Ooh, we're going to surprise. We're going to
00:06:28 --> 00:06:29 surprise our fans. You know what would it be
00:06:29 --> 00:06:37 the surprise? Skipping a year. I mean, I guess
00:06:37 --> 00:06:44 it works but why? But Black Ops 7 will include
00:06:44 --> 00:06:47 a co -op campaign which was absent in Black Ops
00:06:47 --> 00:06:52 6 and will feature near future weaponry and multiplayer
00:06:52 --> 00:06:55 with new maps. The game will also include the
00:06:55 --> 00:06:57 next chapter of round -based zombies. The cast
00:06:57 --> 00:07:02 includes Milo as David Mason. Got a few other
00:07:02 --> 00:07:06 actors as well. It's gonna be available on Xbox
00:07:06 --> 00:07:10 Series X, S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PS4, PC,
00:07:12 --> 00:07:16 and Battle .net and Steam as well. So I'm PC
00:07:16 --> 00:07:19 through Xbox PC. So it's basically available
00:07:19 --> 00:07:21 everywhere. You can do it except for the Switch
00:07:21 --> 00:07:25 2 for whatever reason, which I kind of find funny
00:07:25 --> 00:07:27 because usually you would think the Switch 2
00:07:27 --> 00:07:30 would be on there too, but it's not. The game
00:07:30 --> 00:07:33 can also be played on day one through the Game
00:07:33 --> 00:07:35 Pass Ultimate or PC Game Pass. The development
00:07:35 --> 00:07:39 is co -effort between TechRear and Raven Software.
00:07:40 --> 00:07:43 Black Ops 7 is the first back -to -back release
00:07:43 --> 00:07:46 in the Black Ops sub -series following Black
00:07:46 --> 00:07:51 Ops 6 launch prior year. And I played the beta
00:07:51 --> 00:07:53 of Black Ops 6 and really didn't care for it.
00:07:54 --> 00:07:56 It didn't really motivate me to actually want
00:07:56 --> 00:07:59 to get it. So we'll see. Activision claims that
00:07:59 --> 00:08:03 Black Ops 7 will deliver the full Call of Duty
00:08:03 --> 00:08:07 experience despite some fans perceiving it as
00:08:07 --> 00:08:10 a stopgap game. Infinity Ward is expected to
00:08:10 --> 00:08:14 return with a new Modern Warfare game in 2026.
00:08:15 --> 00:08:18 So it seems like development issues with Modern
00:08:18 --> 00:08:20 Warfare and then they just kind of like switched
00:08:20 --> 00:08:23 them. But here's the thing, if there's development
00:08:23 --> 00:08:26 problems, skip a year. It's fine to skip a year.
00:08:28 --> 00:08:32 Seriously, we don't need it every year. I know
00:08:32 --> 00:08:34 that that's Activision's little marketing ploy,
00:08:34 --> 00:08:38 but you don't need it every year. It's just dumb.
00:08:39 --> 00:08:40 All right, now the one I actually am excited
00:08:40 --> 00:08:46 for is the Blood of the Dawn Walker. That's the
00:08:46 --> 00:08:50 dark fantasy from the former director of The
00:08:50 --> 00:08:52 Witcher 3. The game is set to be released in
00:08:52 --> 00:08:58 2026. A special event is scheduled for June 21st,
00:08:58 --> 00:09:00 where 15 minutes of new gameplay content and
00:09:00 --> 00:09:03 developer commentary will be revealed. The game
00:09:03 --> 00:09:06 will include a directional combat system that
00:09:06 --> 00:09:09 incorporates sword fighting spells and vampiric
00:09:09 --> 00:09:12 powers. Players will explore the game world of
00:09:12 --> 00:09:16 Val's Segnora, which will have gameplay differences
00:09:16 --> 00:09:19 based on whether it is night or day. Interesting.
00:09:20 --> 00:09:23 Narrative focus on Cohen struggle with his identity
00:09:23 --> 00:09:26 and the choice between saving his family or seeking
00:09:26 --> 00:09:31 revenge so this is the one I'm actually the most
00:09:31 --> 00:09:35 excited about because Well, Witcher 3 was amazing
00:09:35 --> 00:09:37 when it came out. It's just one of those things
00:09:37 --> 00:09:43 but I Mean there was very few things I watched
00:09:43 --> 00:09:45 through all but I watched the PC one the PlayStation
00:09:45 --> 00:09:50 one the summer fest and This one and yeah, Xbox
00:09:50 --> 00:09:53 one was probably the best one out of all of them.
00:09:53 --> 00:09:55 But I mean, that's not really saying much to
00:09:55 --> 00:09:59 be honest with you. So I'm excited to see what
00:09:59 --> 00:10:00 we're going to go with this, how well this will
00:10:00 --> 00:10:03 improve upon the Witcher 3 formula and actually
00:10:03 --> 00:10:04 how good it's going to be. Apparently there's
00:10:04 --> 00:10:07 going to be a lot of timed objectives that you're
00:10:07 --> 00:10:09 not going to be able to finish everyone, which
00:10:09 --> 00:10:11 will make a very interesting gameplay loop. But
00:10:11 --> 00:10:18 we'll see how they implement it. All right, moving
00:10:18 --> 00:10:25 on to the Outer Worlds 2. Yeah, it's going to
00:10:25 --> 00:10:28 be a Tarker tone apparently. Apparently they
00:10:28 --> 00:10:30 don't really want to have it that fun tone than
00:10:30 --> 00:10:32 the first one was. And I was like, well, that's
00:10:32 --> 00:10:35 kind of what made it charming the first one.
00:10:35 --> 00:10:37 So that's a little weird. It's going to be the
00:10:37 --> 00:10:40 one of the first ones to have the $80 price tag.
00:10:40 --> 00:10:43 But I'm pretty sure Black Ops 7 is going to have
00:10:43 --> 00:10:45 that $80 price tag as well because it comes around.
00:10:46 --> 00:10:50 the christmas season and xbox wants you to get
00:10:50 --> 00:10:53 the game pass and i'm like oh fine that's fine
00:10:53 --> 00:10:57 i'll just not spend as much money on xbox games
00:10:57 --> 00:11:00 or microsoft games i mean it's it's a pretty
00:11:00 --> 00:11:05 clear thing i don't really care about call of
00:11:05 --> 00:11:10 duty anymore other worlds too seems interesting
00:11:10 --> 00:11:15 but obsidian One of the employees just seems
00:11:15 --> 00:11:18 to be like full on like woke for whatever reason,
00:11:19 --> 00:11:21 even going far to say is that he will help black
00:11:21 --> 00:11:25 people over white people in either jobs because
00:11:25 --> 00:11:26 they've been oppressed, blah, blah, blah. But
00:11:26 --> 00:11:29 then it's like, okay, then don't give your job
00:11:29 --> 00:11:32 to a black person. Never do it. But it's just,
00:11:33 --> 00:11:36 it's funny hypocrisy because it is hypocrisy,
00:11:36 --> 00:11:40 but. This should be interesting to see where
00:11:40 --> 00:11:43 this actually goes and they said the outer worlds
00:11:43 --> 00:11:46 to is described as a true upsetting reactive
00:11:46 --> 00:11:49 RPG Which it's just marketing speak for it's
00:11:49 --> 00:11:53 just our new RPG This weird like reactive. It's
00:11:53 --> 00:11:56 saying yeah, whatever Skills and traits in the
00:11:56 --> 00:11:58 game are more significant influencing combat
00:11:58 --> 00:12:00 conversations and other aspects of the game Alright,
00:12:00 --> 00:12:03 so it's leaning more into RPG. Great. Got it.
00:12:04 --> 00:12:06 That's really what it means whenever they add
00:12:06 --> 00:12:09 more Identifier or qualifiers to what they're
00:12:09 --> 00:12:12 saying. It's just it's an obsidian RPG. It's
00:12:12 --> 00:12:15 not a true obsidian It's just an obsidian RPG,
00:12:15 --> 00:12:17 which is fine. They don't they don't make terrible
00:12:17 --> 00:12:21 RPG. Well valve wasn't great, but Before they
00:12:21 --> 00:12:23 used to actually make really good RPGs now there
00:12:23 --> 00:12:28 it's It's kind of okay Now the most interesting
00:12:28 --> 00:12:31 one out all of them was clockwork Revolution
00:12:31 --> 00:12:35 and this is by nxl games and this will an excel
00:12:35 --> 00:12:39 entertainment and this will probably more than
00:12:39 --> 00:12:42 likely be the $80 games again, but the game is
00:12:42 --> 00:12:44 described as a steampunk RPG shooter with kind
00:12:44 --> 00:12:47 of like time bending power. So it features gadgets
00:12:47 --> 00:12:50 and time bending powers. The atheistic of the
00:12:50 --> 00:12:53 game is clockwork, steampunk and includes humor.
00:12:54 --> 00:12:57 Notable characters of the game are referred to
00:12:57 --> 00:13:02 as the pissed off doll and the knob. Clockwork
00:13:02 --> 00:13:04 Revolution is being developed by NXL Entertainment
00:13:04 --> 00:13:07 with assistance. from former Volition developers
00:13:07 --> 00:13:10 under the studio name Shapeshifter Games. Volition,
00:13:10 --> 00:13:14 known for the Saints Row series, was closed in
00:13:14 --> 00:13:16 2023 due to the poor performance of the most
00:13:16 --> 00:13:19 recent games. There is no specific release date
00:13:19 --> 00:13:22 for Clockwork Revolution, but it will be available
00:13:22 --> 00:13:25 on Game Pass from day one. The game will be released
00:13:25 --> 00:13:30 on PC and Xbox Series X and S. So no word on
00:13:30 --> 00:13:34 PlayStation yet. We'll get more update information
00:13:34 --> 00:13:38 because we don't have that much. I mean the The
00:13:38 --> 00:13:40 trailer we saw I mean it was pretty good. It
00:13:40 --> 00:13:42 was probably the most interesting out of all
00:13:42 --> 00:13:46 of them besides the Blood of the Dawnbreaker,
00:13:46 --> 00:13:50 which also is amazing as well, but interesting
00:13:50 --> 00:13:52 to see what this is, but it's gonna be $80 I'm
00:13:52 --> 00:13:55 probably gonna skip it because I want to see
00:13:55 --> 00:13:57 reviews and see if it actually will be any good
00:13:57 --> 00:14:00 I mean, it's great that it's getting old volition
00:14:00 --> 00:14:04 devs, but Hopefully it's the ones that worked
00:14:04 --> 00:14:07 well with Saints Row and made some aspects of
00:14:07 --> 00:14:10 it really good because Saints Row from the last
00:14:10 --> 00:14:12 one was not very good because there was no direction
00:14:12 --> 00:14:14 and it looks like they just infused a lot of
00:14:14 --> 00:14:16 Woke BS into it which didn't really work out
00:14:16 --> 00:14:19 in their favor because they got closed by Embracer
00:14:19 --> 00:14:21 Group and Embracer Group has been kind of the
00:14:21 --> 00:14:23 laughing stock of the gaming industry because
00:14:23 --> 00:14:27 of just how much they bought and then all their
00:14:27 --> 00:14:30 deals fell through. Alright, so Good Old Games
00:14:30 --> 00:14:32 has introduced a new feature called One -Click
00:14:32 --> 00:14:35 Mods that allows users to essentially install
00:14:35 --> 00:14:39 popular mods for certain classic games. The feature
00:14:39 --> 00:14:42 includes support mods for games including Vampire,
00:14:42 --> 00:14:45 The Masquerade, Bloodlines, Doom 3, Fallout 4,
00:14:46 --> 00:14:48 which plans to include Skyblivion mod for The
00:14:48 --> 00:14:52 Elder Scrolls 5 Skyrim in the future. GOG announced
00:14:52 --> 00:14:54 that this feature at the PC gaming show and provides
00:14:54 --> 00:14:57 details on its functionality and supported mods.
00:14:57 --> 00:14:59 The One -Click mod features offers a curated
00:14:59 --> 00:15:02 list of popular mods rather than all mods available
00:15:02 --> 00:15:05 for the game, distinguishing it from platforms
00:15:05 --> 00:15:08 like the Nexus mods. Installation process for
00:15:08 --> 00:15:11 mods is designed to be simple, automatic through
00:15:11 --> 00:15:15 GOG's online store and GOG Galaxy Launcher. The
00:15:15 --> 00:15:19 current list of supporter mods includes the Skyblivion
00:15:19 --> 00:15:23 mod, the Phobos mod for Doom 3, London for Fallout
00:15:23 --> 00:15:27 4, Horn of the abyss for heroes of might and
00:15:27 --> 00:15:30 magic 3 and the vampire the masquerade bloodlines
00:15:30 --> 00:15:35 unofficial patch so You've retired of Nexus mods
00:15:35 --> 00:15:38 and their BS about which mods are okay for you
00:15:38 --> 00:15:40 to use on your single -player game This might
00:15:40 --> 00:15:42 be a better alternative, but it's not the best
00:15:42 --> 00:15:45 alternative We just need a really good alternative
00:15:45 --> 00:15:48 Mod site that will just allow just about every
00:15:48 --> 00:15:52 mod except the ones that may be illegal or Promote
00:15:52 --> 00:15:55 you to do illegal things maybe but really that's
00:15:55 --> 00:15:58 that's really all we need so it should be interesting
00:15:58 --> 00:16:03 to see how well this actually does and if it's
00:16:03 --> 00:16:05 actually worthwhile or not i mean this seems
00:16:05 --> 00:16:07 like a simple way of doing it a lot of dex mods
00:16:07 --> 00:16:09 can be difficult to understand how to install
00:16:09 --> 00:16:11 them and they may not work so this is bridging
00:16:11 --> 00:16:14 the gap between having mods and not having mods
00:16:14 --> 00:16:18 so spirit media has announced the release of
00:16:18 --> 00:16:20 dragon dungeons and dragons never winter nights
00:16:20 --> 00:16:23 2 enhanced edition during the PC gaming show
00:16:23 --> 00:16:25 2025. The enhanced edition is based on the original
00:16:25 --> 00:16:31 game released in 2002 by Obsidian Entertainment.
00:16:31 --> 00:16:34 The game features smoother gameplay, refined
00:16:34 --> 00:16:36 camera controls, polished mechanics, enhanced
00:16:36 --> 00:16:38 textures, and full controller support with new
00:16:38 --> 00:16:41 controller -specific UI. It will be available
00:16:41 --> 00:16:44 on multi -platforms for the first time, including
00:16:44 --> 00:16:48 PS5, Xbox Series S and X, and Nintendo Switch.
00:16:49 --> 00:16:51 It doesn't say two, it just says Nintendo Switch.
00:16:52 --> 00:16:54 Interesting. In addition to PCs, which is Steam
00:16:54 --> 00:16:55 and GOG, the release date is going to be set
00:16:55 --> 00:16:59 for July 15th, 2025 at a $30 price tag. Not a
00:16:59 --> 00:17:07 bad old game. It's over 20 years old. It is one
00:17:07 --> 00:17:10 of the few games that kind of, because at the
00:17:10 --> 00:17:12 beginning I'm sitting kind of just did a lot
00:17:12 --> 00:17:15 of what Bioware used to do and they kind of did
00:17:15 --> 00:17:17 the sequels to it. Never Know Which are Knights
00:17:17 --> 00:17:21 2, Knights of the Little Republic. and so it
00:17:21 --> 00:17:22 should be interesting what they do with that.
00:17:22 --> 00:17:24 It seems like they always had a really tight
00:17:24 --> 00:17:26 time schedule because they wanted the games out
00:17:26 --> 00:17:29 quickly and so it never really was as good as
00:17:29 --> 00:17:33 the originals, but the Knights of the Republic
00:17:33 --> 00:17:36 2 did have a better story than the original one.
00:17:36 --> 00:17:39 or that's my firm belief they just were on time
00:17:39 --> 00:17:42 they were on a tight time frame and it just didn't
00:17:42 --> 00:17:44 really work out there are mods that kind of bring
00:17:44 --> 00:17:48 back a lot of the cut content that from the story
00:17:48 --> 00:17:50 that actually bridges the gap makes it a lot
00:17:50 --> 00:17:56 better all right so schedule one latest patch
00:17:56 --> 00:17:59 which is version 0 .3 .6 has been fully released.
00:17:59 --> 00:18:02 New features in this update include item slot
00:18:02 --> 00:18:04 filters, replacement of employee beds with lockers,
00:18:04 --> 00:18:07 and improvement in the saving system. Developer
00:18:07 --> 00:18:09 TVGS apologized for the delay in the update,
00:18:09 --> 00:18:11 citing personal reasons, including surgery for
00:18:11 --> 00:18:14 wisdom teeth removal, university commitments,
00:18:14 --> 00:18:19 and other undisclosed issues. Fair enough. TV
00:18:19 --> 00:18:21 GS expressed excitement about continuing to work
00:18:21 --> 00:18:23 on the game and mentioned setting up a community
00:18:23 --> 00:18:26 voting system for future content updates The
00:18:26 --> 00:18:29 first vote will allow players to choose between
00:18:29 --> 00:18:31 three potential updates a police expansion arrival
00:18:31 --> 00:18:36 cartel or shrooms Hey, you know what more power
00:18:36 --> 00:18:38 to him I mean, this is like one guy and he has
00:18:38 --> 00:18:40 a lot of things going on and he's still trying
00:18:40 --> 00:18:43 to update as much as he can I'm not really I'm
00:18:43 --> 00:18:45 not really upset about that. I mean things happen
00:18:45 --> 00:18:48 and the dude made like a game that beat out a
00:18:48 --> 00:18:52 lot of AAA games in like 24 hours. I mean, it
00:18:52 --> 00:18:55 beat out of Dragon Age The Veil Guard. I'm pretty
00:18:55 --> 00:18:57 sure it beat out Assassin's Creed Shadows. And
00:18:57 --> 00:18:59 just funny because it was like one dude that
00:18:59 --> 00:19:03 created like a fun game about drugs. Still fun,
00:19:04 --> 00:19:06 still fun. And he's going to continue to update
00:19:06 --> 00:19:08 it. He's continue to make it better. I'd like
00:19:08 --> 00:19:12 to see rival cartels. Even our place expansion
00:19:12 --> 00:19:13 might be interesting to do something a little
00:19:13 --> 00:19:16 bit more gameplay style to it I mean already
00:19:16 --> 00:19:19 is it is a really good base. I will give them
00:19:19 --> 00:19:28 that and so That is That's good, so I Really
00:19:28 --> 00:19:30 want to see more of that. I think having community
00:19:30 --> 00:19:33 voice system is helpful I don't think always
00:19:33 --> 00:19:36 going by that religiously kind of like still
00:19:36 --> 00:19:39 using your own like discernment between what
00:19:39 --> 00:19:41 you actually think it needs and the community,
00:19:42 --> 00:19:43 but I do think getting input from the community
00:19:43 --> 00:19:48 is actually a really good spot. All right. So
00:19:48 --> 00:19:53 the CEO of 1047 games, which is the developer
00:19:53 --> 00:19:58 of split gate two, he apologized on a video for
00:19:58 --> 00:20:01 controversy surrounding his combat, the comments
00:20:01 --> 00:20:07 and hat worn the summer game fest 2025 hat red
00:20:07 --> 00:20:15 make FPS great again, which is kind of like It's
00:20:15 --> 00:20:18 kind of like make America great again, but without
00:20:18 --> 00:20:22 the Donald Trump type of a thing And he said
00:20:22 --> 00:20:24 it wasn't tend to be political statement, which
00:20:24 --> 00:20:26 I didn't take it as a political statement at
00:20:26 --> 00:20:29 all It's a true statement make these make this
00:20:29 --> 00:20:31 genre good again Why why is that so controversial
00:20:31 --> 00:20:34 just because Trump said you make America great
00:20:34 --> 00:20:37 again? Are you people this stupid like seriously?
00:20:37 --> 00:20:40 Can you not? Get your head out of your butt.
00:20:40 --> 00:20:43 Can you not distinguish between what is political
00:20:43 --> 00:20:45 and what is not saying? So you want to make something
00:20:45 --> 00:20:48 great again is never a bad thing, but you're
00:20:48 --> 00:20:52 so TDS infused that you can't even distinguish
00:20:52 --> 00:20:55 between what is someone that just wants to make
00:20:55 --> 00:20:58 their genre that they create a game in good and
00:20:58 --> 00:21:01 was political. I mean, he remarked the state
00:21:01 --> 00:21:04 of multiplayer FPS games is tragically stale,
00:21:04 --> 00:21:08 which is true. He's not lying about anything.
00:21:08 --> 00:21:11 He's making true statements and that they needed
00:21:11 --> 00:21:13 something to grab attention of the event He acknowledged
00:21:13 --> 00:21:15 the hat and associated message were meant to
00:21:15 --> 00:21:18 be a name expressing their desire to improve
00:21:18 --> 00:21:21 games, which I took as Never apologize to these
00:21:21 --> 00:21:24 lunatics. You saw what they did in LA. I am in
00:21:24 --> 00:21:29 the next county south of LA Which is Orange County
00:21:29 --> 00:21:32 and we don't we never want to be associated with
00:21:32 --> 00:21:37 LA LA sucks LA is terrible you avoid LA, you
00:21:37 --> 00:21:40 go for the day and you come back and you do not
00:21:40 --> 00:21:46 stay in LA. And the fact that these weirdos called
00:21:46 --> 00:21:49 one of them a walking fallacy, cause it is, cause
00:21:49 --> 00:21:51 you're like, oh my God, he created something
00:21:51 --> 00:21:54 out of a message from Trump. He must be a Trump
00:21:54 --> 00:21:56 supporter or he just really wants to make the
00:21:56 --> 00:21:59 first person shooter. genre great again because
00:21:59 --> 00:22:02 it is very stale he has said nothing wrong you
00:22:02 --> 00:22:06 guys are lunatics you guys are children grow
00:22:06 --> 00:22:14 up like seriously grow up like the same asian
00:22:14 --> 00:22:18 lady had the f ice picture it's like yeah uh
00:22:18 --> 00:22:22 -huh yeah i know what you are you marxist leftist
00:22:22 --> 00:22:24 you just want to destroy the country which is
00:22:24 --> 00:22:27 another thing, but saying things that are true,
00:22:27 --> 00:22:30 which is make FPS great again, which isn't just
00:22:30 --> 00:22:33 Battlefield and isn't just Call of Duty and specifically
00:22:33 --> 00:22:36 Call of Duty because it's been stale since Modern
00:22:36 --> 00:22:40 Warfare. In the beginning, the first one, not
00:22:40 --> 00:22:43 the Modern Warfare remake, it kind of helped
00:22:43 --> 00:22:45 it a little bit, but it's been stale for a while.
00:22:46 --> 00:22:49 Splitgate 2 is an interesting thing. The finals
00:22:49 --> 00:22:51 is another interesting way and we just don't
00:22:51 --> 00:22:54 play them as much because we're... We don't like
00:22:54 --> 00:22:59 change very much either. So what he said was
00:22:59 --> 00:23:02 nothing. Of course, the same lady was like, Oh,
00:23:03 --> 00:23:05 well, the same people that you think are not
00:23:05 --> 00:23:10 playing are the Magger or whatever. Cause aren't
00:23:10 --> 00:23:11 playing the games. I'm like, how do you know
00:23:11 --> 00:23:13 that? Cause she doesn't really know that she's
00:23:13 --> 00:23:16 making an assumption. It's like, stop. Like his
00:23:16 --> 00:23:19 statement was true. There was nothing wrong with
00:23:19 --> 00:23:22 his statement. You are all lunatics if you cannot
00:23:22 --> 00:23:24 distinguish between two different statements.
00:23:25 --> 00:23:29 There's a reason why symbolism makes one thing
00:23:29 --> 00:23:32 one way and one thing another way. But it's the
00:23:32 --> 00:23:37 same thing. You just take it as different ways.
00:23:37 --> 00:23:40 But if you cannot act like adults, maybe it's
00:23:40 --> 00:23:47 time to do a timeout on X. It's ridiculous. And
00:23:47 --> 00:23:49 I tweeted the developer, I'm like, you should...
00:23:49 --> 00:23:52 there's nothing you should have apologized for.
00:23:52 --> 00:23:55 There's nothing wrong you said, but he did because
00:23:55 --> 00:24:01 I don't really know. I mean, of course the media,
00:24:01 --> 00:24:03 cause it's always the media that's in favor of
00:24:03 --> 00:24:04 these weird things. It's like, Oh, it's got a
00:24:04 --> 00:24:07 mixed review with 62 % positive. All right. Well,
00:24:07 --> 00:24:11 I steam people don't really care as much. And
00:24:11 --> 00:24:12 it's a hodgepodge of different people. They might
00:24:12 --> 00:24:14 actually have a problem with the game, which
00:24:14 --> 00:24:16 is fair. And because they have a problem messaging
00:24:16 --> 00:24:21 fine, but it'll get it. People, they'll get over
00:24:21 --> 00:24:24 it, they'll find another TDS thing that people
00:24:24 --> 00:24:27 can get upset about. But look it, he said nothing
00:24:27 --> 00:24:33 wrong. He did nothing wrong. Don't apologize
00:24:33 --> 00:24:37 to lunatics. It's one of the most masculine things
00:24:37 --> 00:24:42 you could do, bro. Don't apologize, own it. Because
00:24:42 --> 00:24:45 when you own it, they lose the power. When you
00:24:45 --> 00:24:47 don't own it and you apologize, they get it back.
00:24:47 --> 00:24:51 And that's how we got into this situation. All
00:24:51 --> 00:24:54 right, moving on to Ben Studios, developer of
00:24:54 --> 00:24:57 Days Gone has reportedly lay off 30 % of its
00:24:57 --> 00:24:59 workforce, which is approximately 40 employees.
00:24:59 --> 00:25:01 A little slay off occurred five months after
00:25:01 --> 00:25:04 Sony canceled the studio's live service project.
00:25:04 --> 00:25:07 Ben Studios is working on a new yet to be revealed
00:25:07 --> 00:25:09 game following the cancellation of its live service
00:25:09 --> 00:25:11 offering. The canceled live service game was
00:25:11 --> 00:25:13 one of two projects shut down by Sony in January.
00:25:14 --> 00:25:17 Other service was live service. God of War game
00:25:17 --> 00:25:20 developed by Bluepoint, Jason Schaeffer, a Bloomberg
00:25:20 --> 00:25:23 reporter that only Ben Studios was affected by
00:25:23 --> 00:25:26 these layoffs. And it's unfortunate because Days
00:25:26 --> 00:25:28 Gone was a really good game. I do not understand
00:25:28 --> 00:25:30 why Sony does not want to make a second one of
00:25:30 --> 00:25:35 it. It was a good game. I don't. Don't give us
00:25:35 --> 00:25:38 remasters. That was dumb. Stop with the remasters
00:25:38 --> 00:25:41 of games that are two years old. It's really
00:25:41 --> 00:25:46 dumb. I'm tired of seeing last of us re -re -re
00:25:46 --> 00:25:50 -re remake slash master last remake slash master.
00:25:50 --> 00:25:52 This is the last one, I swear. It's like, no,
00:25:52 --> 00:25:53 it's not. Stop it. Now they have the complete
00:25:53 --> 00:26:00 edition. It's like, stop doing that. All right,
00:26:00 --> 00:26:03 so moving on to Ubisoft has finally released
00:26:03 --> 00:26:07 Rainbow Six Siege X. The game is available. On
00:26:07 --> 00:26:09 all platforms, PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation
00:26:09 --> 00:26:13 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series S and X, and Amazon
00:26:13 --> 00:26:17 Luna. The update improves graphics and adds new
00:26:17 --> 00:26:19 content. The game offers free access for newcomers,
00:26:19 --> 00:26:23 allowing them to play with a selection of operators
00:26:23 --> 00:26:26 and access unranked quick match and dual front
00:26:26 --> 00:26:29 modes without payment. Certain features such
00:26:29 --> 00:26:31 as rank playlists, siege cup, additional operators,
00:26:32 --> 00:26:34 cosmetics require payment to unlock. The lead
00:26:34 --> 00:26:36 edition is one of the It's one of the options
00:26:36 --> 00:26:38 available granting access to all game modes including
00:26:38 --> 00:26:45 rank playlist Yeah, so it's out It hasn't been
00:26:45 --> 00:26:47 really much of a change. I mean there's a new
00:26:47 --> 00:26:50 there's it's Updated some stuff, but there really
00:26:50 --> 00:26:54 isn't much of a change. So there you go I don't
00:26:54 --> 00:26:56 have much takes. I don't really play it anymore.
00:26:56 --> 00:27:00 All right, so Dragon's field guard. It's it's
00:27:00 --> 00:27:03 one of those games where News keeps on coming
00:27:03 --> 00:27:06 out. It's just never good news. It just The reason
00:27:06 --> 00:27:08 why the game was so terrible is basically it.
00:27:09 --> 00:27:12 So the Dragon and Veil Guard underwent significant
00:27:12 --> 00:27:14 production issues, including being rebidded,
00:27:14 --> 00:27:16 delayed, and renamed. We all know that. We all
00:27:16 --> 00:27:18 know it's been true for a while. It's nothing
00:27:18 --> 00:27:22 new to it, but it's just kind of funny that it
00:27:22 --> 00:27:25 happened because they were talking about how
00:27:25 --> 00:27:28 great it was. And from a optimized standpoint,
00:27:28 --> 00:27:32 not bad, but from anything else, not great. So
00:27:32 --> 00:27:34 EA provided BioWare with a year and a half to
00:27:34 --> 00:27:36 overhaul the game and aim for a broad market.
00:27:37 --> 00:27:39 Dumb, first of all. Year and a half, but you're
00:27:39 --> 00:27:43 like, go for our audience and that's all you
00:27:43 --> 00:27:45 need to hit because that's how it happens. The
00:27:45 --> 00:27:47 game development was constrained by tight -dited
00:27:47 --> 00:27:49 lines leading to limited storytelling and world
00:27:49 --> 00:27:51 -building opportunities. That's why it kind of
00:27:51 --> 00:27:53 feels weird and doesn't really feel like a Dragon
00:27:53 --> 00:27:57 Age game, specifically because that's what actually
00:27:57 --> 00:28:03 has happened. It's just not great. So... Dragon
00:28:03 --> 00:28:06 used the Veil Guard missed its sales projection
00:28:06 --> 00:28:11 by over half. And even though journalists claim
00:28:11 --> 00:28:15 it was critically, it was generally positive.
00:28:15 --> 00:28:18 It sits at 69%. People did not like the companions.
00:28:18 --> 00:28:22 People were okay with the combat and the lore
00:28:22 --> 00:28:24 was fine because it was already built in there,
00:28:24 --> 00:28:29 but it wasn't great. It wasn't terrible, terrible
00:28:29 --> 00:28:34 if you... Negate the companions because companions
00:28:34 --> 00:28:36 kind of were the sticking point for a lot of
00:28:36 --> 00:28:40 these issues like the Hitting me over the head
00:28:40 --> 00:28:44 with binary Genders that are non -existent and
00:28:44 --> 00:28:47 doing pulling the brava like all this stuff gamers
00:28:47 --> 00:28:50 hate it So even the media gets this wrong because
00:28:50 --> 00:28:54 they're stupid Most of them are YouTube ones
00:28:54 --> 00:28:56 are usually pretty solid but the ones from a
00:28:56 --> 00:28:58 traditional media They just don't understand
00:28:58 --> 00:29:01 they they are completely oblivious to their own
00:29:01 --> 00:29:05 issues that we have with them. But my issue with
00:29:05 --> 00:29:08 this is that they didn't understand what made
00:29:08 --> 00:29:11 Dragon Age great and this was their issue and
00:29:11 --> 00:29:13 they could never understand why it made Dragon
00:29:13 --> 00:29:15 Age great because the executives and the marketing
00:29:15 --> 00:29:19 team didn't understand the game. If you don't
00:29:19 --> 00:29:21 understand the game, you go hire somebody that
00:29:21 --> 00:29:23 understands the game. You talk to the audience.
00:29:24 --> 00:29:27 You talk to your customers. You figure out why
00:29:27 --> 00:29:29 this is a good game and then you make it for
00:29:29 --> 00:29:32 that niche. I get you want a broad audience,
00:29:32 --> 00:29:36 but you only get a broad audience when you satisfy
00:29:36 --> 00:29:40 your hardcore audience first. This isn't rocket
00:29:40 --> 00:29:43 science, guys. This is marketing 101. You have
00:29:43 --> 00:29:47 a customer base stop trying to say, we're gonna
00:29:47 --> 00:29:51 appeal to the broad audience. What does that
00:29:51 --> 00:29:56 mean? They didn't understand their game. They
00:29:56 --> 00:29:58 barely understand Mass Effect. They barely understood
00:29:58 --> 00:30:00 this one. I don't even understand why they bought
00:30:00 --> 00:30:03 this studio anyways. They basically ran it into
00:30:03 --> 00:30:05 a ground, effed up everything, and then were
00:30:05 --> 00:30:08 like, we don't know why our games aren't selling
00:30:08 --> 00:30:10 great. Well, you hire the wrong people, you promote
00:30:10 --> 00:30:13 the wrong people, and you have the wrong marketing
00:30:13 --> 00:30:17 for it. Three things you shouldn't do, you did
00:30:17 --> 00:30:22 all three of them. First off, you make an RPG
00:30:22 --> 00:30:24 game. for the fans, for the people that love
00:30:24 --> 00:30:27 Dragon Age. Dragon Age Origins was great because
00:30:27 --> 00:30:30 it had that nostalgia field of the old combat
00:30:30 --> 00:30:33 systems with great writing, with great companions,
00:30:33 --> 00:30:37 and with world building. Then you had Dragon
00:30:37 --> 00:30:41 Age 2. Not so great because you had a short timetable,
00:30:41 --> 00:30:44 but the story was interesting, and the companions
00:30:44 --> 00:30:47 were interesting. Dragon Age Inquisition, you
00:30:47 --> 00:30:51 gave more time. It had newer mechanics that weren't,
00:30:51 --> 00:30:55 that were okay, but not that great. And at least
00:30:55 --> 00:30:56 the world building was still there. At least
00:30:56 --> 00:30:58 it still had some of the dark feeling of it.
00:30:59 --> 00:31:03 Like it was still there. Then you had the Veil
00:31:03 --> 00:31:06 Guard, which basically did nothing. You changed
00:31:06 --> 00:31:10 it from the Dread Wolf because Inquisition actually
00:31:10 --> 00:31:13 set up for Solus to be the main bad person. Then
00:31:13 --> 00:31:15 you were like, nah, we're good with that. We'll
00:31:15 --> 00:31:18 do something else. And it's like, You already
00:31:18 --> 00:31:20 had your story there. You just had to like go
00:31:20 --> 00:31:24 with it, but Nope, they made a little bit more
00:31:24 --> 00:31:28 cartoony Not so dark fantasy more of this a high
00:31:28 --> 00:31:31 fantasy again again So you kind of like flipped
00:31:31 --> 00:31:34 the script on it when what made the original?
00:31:34 --> 00:31:36 what people loved and you're like, look, it's
00:31:36 --> 00:31:38 still a dragon age game. Everybody's like, nah,
00:31:38 --> 00:31:41 it's not a dragon age game. Look at EA. I could
00:31:41 --> 00:31:42 actually help you with this. I could actually
00:31:42 --> 00:31:44 tell you specifically what to do. And I probably
00:31:44 --> 00:31:47 would make a pretty successful game, at least
00:31:47 --> 00:31:51 marketing wise. But you guys, you, you, you need
00:31:51 --> 00:31:53 to like, look at your marketing team, look at
00:31:53 --> 00:31:56 your executives and be like, look at player games,
00:31:57 --> 00:32:01 play our old games and figure out what our audience
00:32:01 --> 00:32:03 is. Cause that's the only way you're going to
00:32:03 --> 00:32:06 make successful games. If you don't understand
00:32:06 --> 00:32:09 these, you are a bad executive and a terrible
00:32:09 --> 00:32:14 marketer. All right. So mine's eye is out. It
00:32:14 --> 00:32:18 was developed by build a rocket boy. And boy,
00:32:18 --> 00:32:23 is it not doing well. I've seen a lot of YouTube
00:32:23 --> 00:32:25 videos on it and yeah, it's not looking good.
00:32:26 --> 00:32:29 It is one of those where I'm like, that probably
00:32:29 --> 00:32:35 should. Have been delayed but it wasn't and so
00:32:35 --> 00:32:37 we're down with this this is supposed to be like
00:32:37 --> 00:32:44 kind of like a double a game of Rock stars Grand
00:32:44 --> 00:32:47 Theft Audio Grand Theft Audio Grand Theft Auto,
00:32:47 --> 00:32:51 but in the future, but it wasn't it's it has
00:32:51 --> 00:32:56 massive issues Don't recommend it. Even I was
00:32:56 --> 00:32:58 like looking at all this stuff. I'm like that
00:32:58 --> 00:33:01 means this game is gonna do very well and it's
00:33:01 --> 00:33:05 not and and the Main guy is like, oh, it's all
00:33:05 --> 00:33:07 the trolls and everything. I'm like, no, you
00:33:07 --> 00:33:11 just made a bad game, dude like optimize your
00:33:11 --> 00:33:17 game like I heard that they had like a Developers
00:33:17 --> 00:33:19 preview and you had to go on to like zoom and
00:33:19 --> 00:33:22 you had to watch the gameplay and even then they
00:33:22 --> 00:33:25 hit a trunk god mode and it's like oof that's
00:33:25 --> 00:33:31 not good so i don't build a boy rocket could
00:33:31 --> 00:33:36 be no more it's their own fault so good luck
00:33:36 --> 00:33:39 all right so warhammer 40k space brains 2 has
00:33:39 --> 00:33:42 sold seven million units to date the game was
00:33:42 --> 00:33:45 published by focus entertainment it was developed
00:33:45 --> 00:33:47 by saber interactive and launched on september
00:33:47 --> 00:33:51 9th 2024 focus home announced the tomb that two
00:33:51 --> 00:33:54 million copies were sold the day after launch
00:33:54 --> 00:33:57 so they got an extra five million since that
00:33:57 --> 00:34:00 day. Sales reached five million units by the
00:34:00 --> 00:34:05 end of November 2024, and the sequel is coming
00:34:05 --> 00:34:08 of Warhammer 4K Space Marine 3, was confirmed
00:34:08 --> 00:34:11 to be in development as of March 2025. So this
00:34:11 --> 00:34:13 is how you make a game. They understood their
00:34:13 --> 00:34:15 audience, they understood their game, they knew
00:34:15 --> 00:34:19 what the audience wanted, and they had been successful.
00:34:19 --> 00:34:23 It wasn't... a woke version of this. It was very
00:34:23 --> 00:34:25 high testosterone type of a game. That's what
00:34:25 --> 00:34:27 people wanted. That's why they love the original
00:34:27 --> 00:34:32 one. This is how you do it correctly. Did it
00:34:32 --> 00:34:35 have its issues? Of course it did. It's a game.
00:34:36 --> 00:34:39 But it did the things it needed to do and it
00:34:39 --> 00:34:45 did it well. When you do that, you have good
00:34:45 --> 00:34:48 games. At least Saber Interactive understands
00:34:48 --> 00:34:53 what players want. Everybody else should take
00:34:53 --> 00:34:56 the lead from Saber Interactive and figure out
00:34:56 --> 00:34:59 what their audience wants. If you already have
00:34:59 --> 00:35:02 made an established game, understand your audience.
00:35:02 --> 00:35:07 It's not hard. It is one of the easiest things
00:35:07 --> 00:35:12 to do. It's just developers have lost sight of
00:35:12 --> 00:35:15 it, especially in the big publisher sphere. They
00:35:15 --> 00:35:17 keep on going, what will appeal to everybody?
00:35:17 --> 00:35:21 And I'm like, then you have a nothing game. Appeal
00:35:21 --> 00:35:23 to everybody, you don't have a game. Appeal to
00:35:23 --> 00:35:29 your audience, you have a game. Is that simple?
00:35:31 --> 00:35:33 You don't need to be technical about this. Very
00:35:33 --> 00:35:38 simple. What are your priorities? What do you
00:35:38 --> 00:35:43 want to basically get across in your story? What
00:35:43 --> 00:35:45 do you want to get across in your gameplay design?
00:35:45 --> 00:35:48 How do you work on your gameplay design first
00:35:48 --> 00:35:50 and have the story match the gameplay design?
00:35:51 --> 00:35:54 And do top three things in each of these categories.
00:35:55 --> 00:36:00 Don't do top seven, do top three. If you can
00:36:00 --> 00:36:03 do more, fine, but do top three at least. And
00:36:03 --> 00:36:06 then once you're done with that, then you'll
00:36:06 --> 00:36:11 be on track for a successful game. But know your
00:36:11 --> 00:36:15 audience. the simplest thing to understand and
00:36:15 --> 00:36:18 EA keeps missing the mark. They may actually
00:36:18 --> 00:36:24 understand it in Battlefield. May is a big, big
00:36:24 --> 00:36:27 May because everybody has eyes on Battlefield
00:36:27 --> 00:36:30 6. Everybody's skeptical about how well it's
00:36:30 --> 00:36:32 actually going to do and how well it's going
00:36:32 --> 00:36:41 to appeal to their audience. And so, As I keep
00:36:41 --> 00:36:44 on saying before, the market is shifting. AA
00:36:44 --> 00:36:46 Studios are probably going to be taking the lead
00:36:46 --> 00:36:51 on new IPs, new stories, and new gameplay features.
00:36:52 --> 00:36:55 And AAA games are just going to be mass appeal
00:36:55 --> 00:36:58 to the masses that will be just mediocre games
00:36:58 --> 00:37:02 that people just like because they know of the
00:37:02 --> 00:37:07 game. Will you be successful to a certain extent,
00:37:07 --> 00:37:12 but then it will become stale old and dry? I
00:37:12 --> 00:37:13 really hope it's not gonna be that way, but I
00:37:13 --> 00:37:17 think it is So good luck to you Microsoft. Good
00:37:17 --> 00:37:20 luck to you Ubisoft. Good luck to you EA and
00:37:20 --> 00:37:22 good luck to you take two because you all are
00:37:22 --> 00:37:28 just Just aren't worth it not with $80 a game
00:37:28 --> 00:37:33 So, what do you think Easy or not, let me know
00:37:33 --> 00:37:35 in the comments below, but thank you for listening
