00:00:00 --> 00:00:03 And welcome to a new episode of Digital Coffee
00:00:03 --> 00:00:06 Gaming Brew, and I'm your host, Brett Deister.
00:00:06 --> 00:00:08 If you could please subscribe to this podcast
00:00:08 --> 00:00:10 on all your favorite podcasting apps. We have
00:00:10 --> 00:00:12 a five -star review. It really does help with
00:00:12 --> 00:00:16 the rankings and let me know how I am doing.
00:00:16 --> 00:00:18 But this week we're going to talk about Marathon,
00:00:19 --> 00:00:23 Star Wars Balf... Apparently hacking is terrible
00:00:23 --> 00:00:27 on there. Schedule One is the first content update.
00:00:27 --> 00:00:32 Also an unfortunate... news about the voice actor
00:00:32 --> 00:00:37 of Vesemir in the Witcher video games. Also,
00:00:37 --> 00:00:40 stupid reporter that apparently doesn't read
00:00:40 --> 00:00:45 about the 2025 influencer marketing report and
00:00:45 --> 00:00:50 how it pertains to gaming. We are going to talk
00:00:50 --> 00:00:54 about as well, enshrouded in the new updates,
00:00:55 --> 00:00:59 Marvel Rivals Season 2 is out and a little about
00:00:59 --> 00:01:04 tariffs situation because that just seems interesting
00:01:04 --> 00:01:19 in general so let's get on with the show hmm
00:01:19 --> 00:01:25 that's good all right so marathon the game that
00:01:26 --> 00:01:28 Bungie is redoing because that was actually their
00:01:28 --> 00:01:31 first game on Mac. If you can actually believe
00:01:31 --> 00:01:33 that in the 90s, they actually, their first game
00:01:33 --> 00:01:36 they created was Marathon on Mac. It was basically
00:01:36 --> 00:01:41 a Doom clone, specifically a Doom clone. See,
00:01:41 --> 00:01:43 everything was a Wolfenstein slash Doom clone
00:01:43 --> 00:01:46 back in those days, but it was actually pretty
00:01:46 --> 00:01:49 good and people liked it. It was a pretty good
00:01:49 --> 00:01:54 game for Mac. So they decided to Make the new
00:01:54 --> 00:01:57 game and marathon will not require a PlayStation
00:01:57 --> 00:02:02 Network account to play on peace box Series X
00:02:02 --> 00:02:05 and S but bungee confirms information on their
00:02:05 --> 00:02:08 official Discord server and the requirement for
00:02:08 --> 00:02:12 that only applies to the PlayStation 5 version
00:02:12 --> 00:02:16 of the game so you're welcome that we've bitched
00:02:16 --> 00:02:20 about it so much that bungees and so It's not
00:02:20 --> 00:02:23 really worth the hassle to do this anymore, which
00:02:23 --> 00:02:25 is good because I really don't want to have to
00:02:25 --> 00:02:29 do another game with another account on something
00:02:29 --> 00:02:31 else when I can just play it on Steam, and it's
00:02:31 --> 00:02:36 fine that way. It's just really weird that we
00:02:36 --> 00:02:39 have to do this, but we don't actually have to
00:02:39 --> 00:02:45 do it anymore. All right, moving on to Star Wars
00:02:45 --> 00:02:48 Battlefront 2 and apparently on PC. and only
00:02:48 --> 00:02:51 on PC because it's always fun when hacking goes
00:02:51 --> 00:02:55 on PC. Are reporting that the game's online modes,
00:02:55 --> 00:02:57 particularly Galactic Assault and Supremacy are
00:02:57 --> 00:03:01 compatible due to hacking. The hack prevents
00:03:01 --> 00:03:04 players from spawning in matches, affecting all
00:03:04 --> 00:03:07 40 player modes. Complaints about hackers in
00:03:07 --> 00:03:08 Battlefront 2 have been going on for months.
00:03:09 --> 00:03:12 or years with a specific hacker known as blix
00:03:12 --> 00:03:15 taunting players the current hack has been updated
00:03:15 --> 00:03:19 to auto load in every match or difficult for
00:03:19 --> 00:03:22 players to find unaffected games some players
00:03:22 --> 00:03:26 report that hackers are posing posting inappropriate
00:03:26 --> 00:03:30 messages in chat impersonating ea admin accounts
00:03:30 --> 00:03:33 previous hacks have also also disrupted gameplay
00:03:33 --> 00:03:39 such as one in 2022 that made characters The
00:03:39 --> 00:03:41 EA forms are filled with complaints in the current
00:03:41 --> 00:03:44 situation, but there has been no response from
00:03:44 --> 00:03:49 EA as of the article's publication. IGN has reached
00:03:49 --> 00:03:52 out as the publication found they have reached
00:03:52 --> 00:03:55 out for comment and console players are reportedly
00:03:55 --> 00:03:58 unaffected by these hacks. This is the downside
00:03:58 --> 00:04:01 of PC is that we actually have to deal with this
00:04:01 --> 00:04:04 and it's not really very fun to deal with this
00:04:04 --> 00:04:10 in general, but Unfortunately, that's just how
00:04:10 --> 00:04:13 the state of it is. It really is unfortunate.
00:04:13 --> 00:04:16 I do hate hackers in general, and this just makes
00:04:16 --> 00:04:20 it all deals and carries having fun, ruining
00:04:20 --> 00:04:23 your fun. So you might as well just play new
00:04:23 --> 00:04:26 games or a different game. I know just play the
00:04:26 --> 00:04:29 battlefront classic games. Probably the best
00:04:29 --> 00:04:32 ones to play right now until he actually responds
00:04:32 --> 00:04:34 and does something about it. But if they're not
00:04:34 --> 00:04:41 going to do anything about it, which is Unless
00:04:41 --> 00:04:43 they figure out a way of doing private servers
00:04:43 --> 00:04:48 and making sure that actual admins kick these
00:04:48 --> 00:04:50 people out because they're not going to do anything
00:04:50 --> 00:04:54 against him. He has free will and free reign
00:04:54 --> 00:04:58 to do whatever he wants. He's doing it to the
00:04:58 --> 00:05:01 full extent because he knows that EA will do
00:05:01 --> 00:05:04 absolutely nothing because they are focused on
00:05:04 --> 00:05:07 Battlefield 6, they do not care about battlefront
00:05:07 --> 00:05:11 2 anymore. And those that enjoy playing it sucks.
00:05:12 --> 00:05:15 Maybe play the original battlefront if you can.
00:05:16 --> 00:05:19 This alternative or play the classic ones that
00:05:19 --> 00:05:21 are remastered is probably your other way of
00:05:21 --> 00:05:25 going. But anything beyond that. Not really going
00:05:25 --> 00:05:31 to work very well. All right, so schedule one
00:05:31 --> 00:05:34 is going to have its first content update or
00:05:34 --> 00:05:38 did actually. April 10th, the update introduces
00:05:38 --> 00:05:41 a new pawn shop where players can sell various
00:05:41 --> 00:05:46 items to a character named Mick. Because, well,
00:05:47 --> 00:05:50 that's what it is right now. The update includes
00:05:50 --> 00:05:52 new items such as a gold watch, six paintings
00:05:52 --> 00:05:56 and a toilet, as well as improvements like. are
00:05:56 --> 00:06:01 stack size and enhanced meeting icons in the
00:06:01 --> 00:06:05 map app players using the beta branch of this
00:06:05 --> 00:06:07 game can access the new features instructions
00:06:07 --> 00:06:12 for access the beta branch are provided the developers
00:06:12 --> 00:06:15 developer which is just really one mentions that
00:06:15 --> 00:06:19 future parties include fixing bugs, ensuring
00:06:19 --> 00:06:22 employee reliability, improving save files integrity
00:06:22 --> 00:06:25 with assistance from Valve. And the game remains
00:06:25 --> 00:06:28 the top selling title on Steam two weeks after
00:06:28 --> 00:06:32 launch, which really goes to show that unfortunately
00:06:32 --> 00:06:36 for drug dealers going well for you, because
00:06:36 --> 00:06:40 I know you're looking into see if there's any
00:06:40 --> 00:06:43 actual wrongdoing or copyright infringements,
00:06:43 --> 00:06:45 but probably sure it's not going to be much.
00:06:45 --> 00:06:48 even though things look the same it doesn't actually
00:06:48 --> 00:06:54 mean that it's going to be that way so that's
00:06:54 --> 00:07:00 where we're at but it is one of those things
00:07:00 --> 00:07:05 where it it's fine it's fine i'm pretty sure
00:07:05 --> 00:07:08 that developer is going to be doing really well
00:07:08 --> 00:07:11 which it's not but this is actually good news
00:07:11 --> 00:07:15 because playing the game when you do have Extra
00:07:15 --> 00:07:17 things you actually just have to discard them
00:07:17 --> 00:07:19 and it's nice that you can actually sell them
00:07:19 --> 00:07:23 back for money. So I'm happy about that because
00:07:23 --> 00:07:28 Really just needs to sell them for good money
00:07:28 --> 00:07:30 get some some of the money back that you actually
00:07:30 --> 00:07:34 spent Can actually upgrade equipment, you know
00:07:34 --> 00:07:36 to discard it all the time because that was the
00:07:36 --> 00:07:38 only way of doing it So I like this update. This
00:07:38 --> 00:07:40 is actually pretty good. If you have not played
00:07:40 --> 00:07:43 schedule one, I highly recommend it. This is
00:07:43 --> 00:07:49 actually really fun All right, moving on to William
00:07:49 --> 00:07:53 Roberts, the voice actor, Vesemir in CD Projekt
00:07:53 --> 00:07:56 Red's Witcher. Video games has died at the age
00:07:56 --> 00:07:59 of 80. His death was first reported by The Guardian
00:07:59 --> 00:08:02 in February, an obituary written by his former
00:08:02 --> 00:08:05 wife, Nicolette Roberts. Roberts was born in
00:08:05 --> 00:08:08 Oregon and built his career in Britain as an
00:08:08 --> 00:08:12 actor, director, voice artist, and writer. programs
00:08:12 --> 00:08:15 narrated audiobooks from the Royal National Institute
00:08:15 --> 00:08:17 of Blind People and other companies and acted
00:08:17 --> 00:08:20 in radio productions such as Batman and Judge
00:08:20 --> 00:08:23 Dread. He appeared in numerous video games including
00:08:23 --> 00:08:26 Time Splitter 2, Crisis, Age of Kodan, Battlefield
00:08:26 --> 00:08:30 Bad Company, Killzone 2, Sniper Elite, Diponia,
00:08:31 --> 00:08:35 Star Wars Battlefront, Horizon Zero Dawn, A Way
00:08:35 --> 00:08:38 Out, The Medium, and Atomic Heart. Wow, he did
00:08:38 --> 00:08:42 a lot of really big video games besides The Witcher.
00:08:43 --> 00:08:46 Vesemir, his most recognized role, is Garret's
00:08:46 --> 00:08:50 mentor in The Witcher series. Roberts was known
00:08:50 --> 00:08:54 for his insensitive reading of works by authors
00:08:54 --> 00:09:00 like Melville, Poe, and Lovecraft. In 1980, 80s
00:09:00 --> 00:09:04 he voiced a Texas Tom and ads on for Texas home
00:09:04 --> 00:09:08 care DIY stores. He trained as a pilot later
00:09:08 --> 00:09:12 in his life and biography under the name Wee
00:09:12 --> 00:09:16 Roberts. So it's unfortunate, but he did live
00:09:16 --> 00:09:19 a long life, but yeah, no more voice actor for
00:09:19 --> 00:09:24 Vesemir. He is no longer with us. And as always,
00:09:24 --> 00:09:26 thoughts and prayers go out to his family because
00:09:26 --> 00:09:29 it's always a difficult time when you lose. of
00:09:29 --> 00:09:34 how old they are it's still rough All right moving
00:09:34 --> 00:09:39 on to apparently game biz industry decided that
00:09:39 --> 00:09:43 they needed to talk about the 2025 influencer
00:09:43 --> 00:09:49 marketing report they claim that there is a pay
00:09:49 --> 00:09:54 male and female influencers and that it's terrible
00:09:54 --> 00:09:57 because we're in 2025 and the pay gap exists
00:09:57 --> 00:10:02 not just For any reason just that it's just males
00:10:02 --> 00:10:05 are worse because we get paid more but actually
00:10:05 --> 00:10:10 it's not it's basically because It's like a 40
00:10:10 --> 00:10:19 % Pay cut or pay gap between female male Influencers,
00:10:19 --> 00:10:24 but there are possible reasons for this one is
00:10:24 --> 00:10:29 the buns of female creators because it is female
00:10:29 --> 00:10:34 creators to like a 28 % male creators. So you
00:10:34 --> 00:10:38 have a ton of female creators out there that
00:10:38 --> 00:10:40 could be, I don't know, driving down the price
00:10:40 --> 00:10:44 a little bit. And especially as the micro influencer
00:10:44 --> 00:10:48 levels results in price, prices influence female
00:10:48 --> 00:10:51 and down compared to their male counterparts,
00:10:52 --> 00:10:55 which they're being less males than female influencers.
00:10:55 --> 00:10:59 The males naturally command a higher asking price
00:10:59 --> 00:11:03 due to limited supply. So supply and demand to
00:11:03 --> 00:11:05 price. Also, it's because that males actually
00:11:05 --> 00:11:09 focus on their niche and females for stuff like
00:11:09 --> 00:11:12 beauty and all that other stuff. So there are
00:11:12 --> 00:11:15 actual reasons for this. It's just that he decided
00:11:15 --> 00:11:19 to leave it out because males are bad for getting
00:11:19 --> 00:11:23 more money than females are. 72 % of the mark
00:11:23 --> 00:11:30 of influencer marketing is females. Yeah. I just
00:11:30 --> 00:11:32 don't understand. I get that you're reporting
00:11:32 --> 00:11:35 this and it's interesting and important, but
00:11:35 --> 00:11:37 it's just one of those things where it's, I don't
00:11:37 --> 00:11:40 really need to know that. I don't really care
00:11:40 --> 00:11:43 about your opinions about this and saying that
00:11:43 --> 00:11:47 always mail. Well, blah, blah, blah, blah. Also,
00:11:47 --> 00:11:53 if you look in the breakdown, most marketers
00:11:53 --> 00:11:56 use Instagram or TikTok because it gives the
00:11:56 --> 00:11:58 better. price point, but if you want more money,
00:11:58 --> 00:12:03 you use YouTube. And so there is that type of
00:12:03 --> 00:12:08 thing. Plus the pay $83. It's not a lot. I know
00:12:08 --> 00:12:11 it's 40 % or something like that, but when you
00:12:11 --> 00:12:15 actually look at the money wise, it's $83. So
00:12:15 --> 00:12:19 we're, it's not a whole lot. It's just weird
00:12:19 --> 00:12:25 in 2025, we have to have this and care about
00:12:25 --> 00:12:32 the gender pay gap because the first time people
00:12:32 --> 00:12:34 were like, Oh, it's terrible because of this.
00:12:35 --> 00:12:37 And there are actually factors. Males work in
00:12:37 --> 00:12:43 more high or highly dangerous job. Well, females
00:12:43 --> 00:12:45 take more time off than males do. Males tend
00:12:45 --> 00:12:50 to work longer. Females will maybe not in my
00:12:50 --> 00:12:54 generation or the generation after me will actually
00:12:54 --> 00:12:56 get have babies, have families and stuff. So
00:12:56 --> 00:12:59 they'll take more time off for that. That's usually
00:12:59 --> 00:13:05 the reason for it, but people have to not care
00:13:05 --> 00:13:07 about the actual stats and care about agenda
00:13:07 --> 00:13:10 pushing. And this is another one. So when you
00:13:10 --> 00:13:12 see that report out there, it's not, they're
00:13:12 --> 00:13:14 not really telling you the truth until you actually
00:13:14 --> 00:13:17 read through it. And I had to, it's a long article
00:13:17 --> 00:13:19 and it's very interesting, but I had to go down
00:13:19 --> 00:13:23 through this one blurb about gay, even in the
00:13:23 --> 00:13:26 top 10 most popular. niches. Technology is, which
00:13:26 --> 00:13:31 could be gaming too, but technology is a really
00:13:31 --> 00:13:37 big swath of consumer tech, gaming, VR, and a
00:13:37 --> 00:13:42 bunch of other stuff, AI. Also, it pays to be
00:13:42 --> 00:13:44 gay apparently because the highest paid niches
00:13:44 --> 00:13:52 is LGBTQ plus is $316 .78 per collaboration.
00:13:53 --> 00:13:56 Then it's comedy, then it's vegan, then it's
00:13:56 --> 00:14:02 family and children. Athletics. Yeah. Base to
00:14:02 --> 00:14:06 be gay. You're also looking for the platform
00:14:06 --> 00:14:10 pricing trends. YouTube is the highest at $675.
00:14:11 --> 00:14:20 So. Just so you know. Anyways. Two in shrouded
00:14:20 --> 00:14:24 and the thralls of Twilight will launch in May
00:14:24 --> 00:14:26 the game has reached a milestone of four million
00:14:26 --> 00:14:29 players the update will introduce new gameplay
00:14:29 --> 00:14:33 mechanics including weapon mods Jim Jim crafting
00:14:33 --> 00:14:37 and deconstruction new weapon and combat balanced
00:14:37 --> 00:14:40 This update new enemies will be added. Although
00:14:40 --> 00:14:42 specific details about these enemies were not
00:14:42 --> 00:14:45 provided in shrouded features a day and night
00:14:45 --> 00:14:50 cycle lasting about 30 minutes and to 12 minutes
00:14:50 --> 00:14:54 in real time respectively. At night players can
00:14:54 --> 00:14:56 catch fireflies and counter rare enemies like
00:14:56 --> 00:15:01 zombies. And the update and the upcoming update
00:15:01 --> 00:15:04 will provide players with a new reason to explore
00:15:04 --> 00:15:07 during nighttime through specific details were
00:15:07 --> 00:15:10 not disclosed yet. So developer in shrouded is
00:15:10 --> 00:15:13 still creating the game. It's still very Probably
00:15:13 --> 00:15:16 a game in its own right. It's still an early
00:15:16 --> 00:15:19 access. It's still a fun game Game that you can
00:15:19 --> 00:15:22 play with friends or by yourself, which is great
00:15:22 --> 00:15:23 because you don't have to worry about people
00:15:23 --> 00:15:26 like Stealing your stuff and then you have to
00:15:26 --> 00:15:28 start over again, which is nice You don't have
00:15:28 --> 00:15:30 to worry about that too much so you can play
00:15:30 --> 00:15:33 by yourself. So it's got a nice blend It's not
00:15:33 --> 00:15:36 like rust where rust was kind of like you're
00:15:36 --> 00:15:42 with everybody Now you really have to figure
00:15:42 --> 00:15:46 out what you're gonna do with everybody there
00:15:46 --> 00:15:52 So moving on to Marvel Rivals season 2 it is
00:15:52 --> 00:15:55 out right now and the new tank hero is Emma Frost
00:15:55 --> 00:16:01 she is a Brawler so she has a she has two forms,
00:16:01 --> 00:16:06 which is like Rematra from overwatch 2 and a
00:16:06 --> 00:16:11 rare form abilities like psych spear mine I guess
00:16:11 --> 00:16:14 and diamond form which includes carbon crush
00:16:14 --> 00:16:18 and crystal kick her diamond form and enemies
00:16:18 --> 00:16:22 interrupt their ultimate abilities now frost
00:16:22 --> 00:16:25 abilities allow her to shift between mid -range
00:16:25 --> 00:16:27 and close -range combat effectively the developers
00:16:27 --> 00:16:30 priority to is to ensure players have fun even
00:16:30 --> 00:16:32 if it leads to balance issues with characters
00:16:32 --> 00:16:41 and A whole bunch of reworking on the hero team
00:16:41 --> 00:16:45 ups as well. So it looks like Scarlet Witch and
00:16:45 --> 00:16:47 Doctor Strange are gonna have a hero team up.
00:16:47 --> 00:16:52 It looks like Hulk and Namor and or Iron Man
00:16:52 --> 00:16:54 are gonna be those types of things as well. It
00:16:54 --> 00:16:57 looks like Captain. You're gonna have a team
00:16:57 --> 00:17:00 up and it's gonna be lost with rocket rocket
00:17:00 --> 00:17:02 and Punisher still gonna be the same thing So
00:17:02 --> 00:17:04 it looks like they're rebalancing it making more
00:17:04 --> 00:17:07 interesting which I'm in favor of to Rebalance
00:17:07 --> 00:17:10 and try to do different hero team ups and it
00:17:10 --> 00:17:12 just keeps it fresh and more interesting It's
00:17:12 --> 00:17:15 still better than overwatch 2 but overwatch 2
00:17:15 --> 00:17:18 is getting better hero perks and eventually the
00:17:18 --> 00:17:24 stadium coming out But we will see once It's
00:17:24 --> 00:17:26 already from overwatch 2 because overwatch 2
00:17:26 --> 00:17:30 has to deal with Marvel rivals because they're
00:17:30 --> 00:17:34 just doing so much better at What overwatch 2
00:17:34 --> 00:17:37 should have done better? I've really use 6v6
00:17:37 --> 00:17:40 6v6 is the best thing for it and it should have
00:17:40 --> 00:17:45 never left that All right moving on into the
00:17:45 --> 00:17:49 switch I know I don't talk about console too
00:17:49 --> 00:17:52 much the GPU market and just the market in general
00:17:52 --> 00:17:57 with the tariffs. So tariffs are about 145 %
00:17:57 --> 00:18:00 now for China, because China is the special one
00:18:00 --> 00:18:03 that gets the tariffs because they, they don't
00:18:03 --> 00:18:05 really care about the United States too much.
00:18:05 --> 00:18:08 They do and they don't. Then Nintendo has been
00:18:08 --> 00:18:13 a lot hot water because now the switch to door
00:18:13 --> 00:18:16 is on hold indefinitely because of the tariffs.
00:18:17 --> 00:18:19 Also, their games are going to cost $80 for digital
00:18:19 --> 00:18:22 and $90 for physical for whatever reason, because
00:18:22 --> 00:18:25 the physical ones also might just carry a key.
00:18:25 --> 00:18:27 So it doesn't really matter if you're not getting
00:18:27 --> 00:18:31 any game files on there. So there's that. And
00:18:31 --> 00:18:34 there's a price hike on from the Switch to the
00:18:34 --> 00:18:38 Switch 2. It seems like a lot of the Switch 2
00:18:38 --> 00:18:40 features are locked behind their subscription
00:18:40 --> 00:18:44 paywall, which really is annoying the voice chat
00:18:44 --> 00:18:45 you can't do it unless you have a subscription
00:18:45 --> 00:18:49 video chat as well but who really cares about
00:18:49 --> 00:18:54 all that stuff you also have there's some nice
00:18:54 --> 00:18:56 features but it's not really wanting me to buy
00:18:56 --> 00:18:59 it plus with just how expensive the games are
00:18:59 --> 00:19:01 going to be what's the point of getting a game
00:19:01 --> 00:19:04 where i can just get a steam deck which i'll
00:19:04 --> 00:19:06 bet might be more expensive but it also offers
00:19:06 --> 00:19:09 me a lot more functionality features i can turn
00:19:09 --> 00:19:13 my steam Next desktop I can use it as a desktop
00:19:13 --> 00:19:16 can't do that with a switch switch is just whatever
00:19:16 --> 00:19:21 they give you plus with their Switch to welcome
00:19:21 --> 00:19:25 game. That's $10 weird Which leads me to the
00:19:25 --> 00:19:28 high -performance GPUs in Taiwan. So it looks
00:19:28 --> 00:19:34 like they can circumvent ship it from China or
00:19:34 --> 00:19:37 Mexico, and then they filter it back up through
00:19:37 --> 00:19:39 the United States. This is the only way they
00:19:39 --> 00:19:41 can keep the prices down, because if they don't,
00:19:41 --> 00:19:45 they'll have to raise prices too much. We also
00:19:45 --> 00:19:49 have the issue with peripherals, because the
00:19:49 --> 00:19:52 majority of peripherals are in China. I've worked
00:19:52 --> 00:19:54 with two different ones, and I know exactly how
00:19:54 --> 00:19:58 it is. They mostly innovate the designs and everything
00:19:58 --> 00:20:03 through Taiwan, have a factory in China. Usually
00:20:03 --> 00:20:04 Shanghai. I think it's probably the one that
00:20:04 --> 00:20:10 actually do it in and then To the United States
00:20:10 --> 00:20:13 usually how it is Usually the person that has
00:20:13 --> 00:20:15 a warehouse of the company that has the warehouse
00:20:15 --> 00:20:18 will steal the tech and reuse the tech and there's
00:20:18 --> 00:20:20 nothing you can do about it They've been stealing
00:20:20 --> 00:20:24 our IPs for quite a while including the technology
00:20:24 --> 00:20:29 stuff. I'm pretty sure gaming is no So the The
00:20:29 --> 00:20:33 problem is that for gaming, they have to now
00:20:33 --> 00:20:35 figure out where they're going to go. Vietnam,
00:20:35 --> 00:20:39 if they make a deal with the United States, Malaysia,
00:20:39 --> 00:20:43 or bite the bullet, figure out how to make it
00:20:43 --> 00:20:48 in the United States. And in the process, make
00:20:48 --> 00:20:51 the production cheaper as much as you can through
00:20:51 --> 00:20:55 automation. And then that way you can localize.
00:20:56 --> 00:20:58 your product distribution within the United States.
00:20:58 --> 00:21:00 And you don't have to worry about what we went
00:21:00 --> 00:21:05 through COVID and everything else with just a
00:21:05 --> 00:21:07 string of holes from China saying, we want a
00:21:07 --> 00:21:11 lot of stuff to you. And now with China actually
00:21:11 --> 00:21:14 saying we're going to withhold rare minerals,
00:21:15 --> 00:21:19 that puts a squeeze on the tech sector even more.
00:21:19 --> 00:21:23 It may not actually hit the keyboards. But we're
00:21:23 --> 00:21:25 all going to fill it eventually. It's why Apple
00:21:25 --> 00:21:30 decided to fly five plane loads of iPhones to
00:21:30 --> 00:21:32 the United States. When this was happening, it's
00:21:32 --> 00:21:36 why a lot of other Amazon canceled a lot of Chinese
00:21:36 --> 00:21:41 specific products. And this isn't going to really
00:21:41 --> 00:21:43 resolve itself until China and United States
00:21:43 --> 00:21:48 actually come to a mutual deal, which favor of
00:21:48 --> 00:21:51 because they've been screwing us over for decades.
00:21:51 --> 00:21:54 They've been screwing us over, they've been making
00:21:54 --> 00:21:56 cheap products, they've been destroying our industries,
00:21:57 --> 00:22:00 and they've been stealing our tech. China doesn't
00:22:00 --> 00:22:02 make anything. China doesn't innovate anything.
00:22:02 --> 00:22:04 So this whole thing about they made an alternative
00:22:04 --> 00:22:09 HDMI that is amazing is probably not true because
00:22:09 --> 00:22:14 they did that with their AI system and it turns
00:22:14 --> 00:22:16 out that it really wasn't that efficient and
00:22:16 --> 00:22:19 they spent a bunch of money trying to get the
00:22:19 --> 00:22:23 GPUs and so It became one of these things where
00:22:23 --> 00:22:30 really it's not that. So we're in this pickle
00:22:30 --> 00:22:33 right now. We have to figure out how to get out
00:22:33 --> 00:22:38 of this. And the only way to really strangle
00:22:38 --> 00:22:41 hold China and make sure that they're not stealing
00:22:41 --> 00:22:43 our tech anymore is to go to the other countries
00:22:43 --> 00:22:47 and produce it in Vietnam, Malaysia. It's like
00:22:47 --> 00:22:49 I said before, you're not going to get around
00:22:49 --> 00:22:52 this. There are probably going to be a lot of
00:22:52 --> 00:22:54 tariffs on China for the foreseeable future because
00:22:54 --> 00:22:56 they're going to fight this in the United States.
00:22:57 --> 00:22:59 I don't think it's going to balk anytime soon.
00:22:59 --> 00:23:01 It could be four years. It could be two years.
00:23:01 --> 00:23:06 It could be even longer, but we're now in a trade
00:23:06 --> 00:23:10 war. So that means that you can't really produce
00:23:10 --> 00:23:13 all the cheap stuff, cheap tech stuff in China
00:23:13 --> 00:23:17 anymore, unless you want to incur the cost. or
00:23:17 --> 00:23:20 put the cost to the customer. And so that's going
00:23:20 --> 00:23:23 to make the marketers go, oh gosh, how are we
00:23:23 --> 00:23:26 going to creatively figure out how to save things?
00:23:27 --> 00:23:30 Like we're not really raising prices. And so
00:23:30 --> 00:23:32 we'll just add new quote unquote tech features
00:23:32 --> 00:23:36 to our product line to make it look like we've
00:23:36 --> 00:23:38 added more features. We really haven't. It's
00:23:38 --> 00:23:42 just the tariffs or just a minute saying, you're
00:23:42 --> 00:23:45 going to have to eat the costs because we're
00:23:45 --> 00:23:51 not going to. So we have issues with Nintendo
00:23:51 --> 00:23:55 and what they're doing. We have issues with peripherals
00:23:55 --> 00:23:57 and what they're doing. And so this is going
00:23:57 --> 00:24:00 to be a very interesting time to see what is
00:24:00 --> 00:24:03 actually going to happen. And it's going to be
00:24:03 --> 00:24:08 expensive. So I would be prepared. You can buy
00:24:08 --> 00:24:14 now and then wait a couple of years and you may
00:24:14 --> 00:24:16 be able to, you may be able to actually get something.
00:24:18 --> 00:24:21 But this were right now. So with that this is
00:24:21 --> 00:24:24 the end of digital coffee gaming brew. I really
00:24:24 --> 00:24:28 do appreciate it and This podcast on all your
