In this episode of Digital Coffee Gaming Brew, host Brett Deister discusses recent updates from Electronic Arts and their decision to not increase game prices to $80 for the foreseeable future. He also delves into EA's plans to transform Battlefield 6 into a gameplay platform and similar upcoming changes for PUBG, including its transition to Unreal Engine 5. Brett provides a detailed review of Battlefield 6's multiplayer reveal, covers game mechanics, new modes, classes, and upcoming beta testing. The episode concludes with a critical discussion on censorship related to porn games on Steam, driven by credit card companies responding to activist pressure, and its potential consequences for gamers.

00:00:00 --> 00:00:03 And welcome to a new episode of digital coffee
00:00:03 --> 00:00:05 gaming brew and I'm your host Brett Deister if you
00:00:05 --> 00:00:07 please subscribe to this podcast and all your
00:00:07 --> 00:00:09 favorite podcasting apps leave a five -star review
00:00:09 --> 00:00:11 really just help with the rankings and let me
00:00:11 --> 00:00:15 know how I am doing but this week we're gonna
00:00:15 --> 00:00:19 be talking about Electronic arts specifically
00:00:19 --> 00:00:22 and some of the battlefield updates as well I
00:00:22 --> 00:00:24 found I watched the multiplayer one the one I
00:00:24 --> 00:00:26 actually really care about also gonna be talking
00:00:26 --> 00:00:30 about pub G Kind of the new stuff happening on
00:00:30 --> 00:00:33 that and then kind of also going to be talking
00:00:33 --> 00:00:38 about the whole censorship and porn and the credit
00:00:38 --> 00:00:42 cards and how it's Well good and bad and how
00:00:42 --> 00:00:44 I agree and disagree with gamers at the same
00:00:44 --> 00:01:03 time. So Let's get on with the show That's good.
00:01:04 --> 00:01:07 All right. Hope you're having a fantastic start
00:01:07 --> 00:01:12 to your weekend, but let's get on with it. So
00:01:12 --> 00:01:14 EA has announced that at this time they are not
00:01:14 --> 00:01:18 going to be increasing their games to $80 for
00:01:18 --> 00:01:20 the foreseeable future. We don't really know
00:01:20 --> 00:01:23 exactly when it's going to happen, but it will
00:01:23 --> 00:01:25 probably happen when they feel like they need
00:01:25 --> 00:01:27 more money because that's usually how it is.
00:01:28 --> 00:01:31 So. Just get ready for it, guys, because it's
00:01:31 --> 00:01:33 eventually going to be coming, unfortunately.
00:01:33 --> 00:01:36 Do I want it to happen? No. Will it happen? More
00:01:36 --> 00:01:40 than likely, yes. So he also said that EA CEO
00:01:40 --> 00:01:43 Andrew Wilson stated during the company Q1 earnings
00:01:43 --> 00:01:46 that there are no changes to pricing plan currently.
00:01:46 --> 00:01:49 EA offers a broad pricing scheme across its products
00:01:49 --> 00:01:51 from free to play to premium and deluxe editions.
00:01:52 --> 00:01:54 Wilson emphasized the company's goal to provide
00:01:54 --> 00:01:56 value to players through various pricing schemes.
00:01:57 --> 00:02:00 The fiscal year for EA ends in March 2026 and
00:02:00 --> 00:02:04 the company has not factored in $80 games for
00:02:04 --> 00:02:07 this period. So we got until 2026 of next year
00:02:07 --> 00:02:10 and then we'll figure out if they'll do it next
00:02:10 --> 00:02:15 year. The chief financial officer confirmed that
00:02:15 --> 00:02:18 there is no change in pricing guidance for the
00:02:18 --> 00:02:23 current fiscal year. So rejoice this gamers because
00:02:23 --> 00:02:26 we actually at least confirm for the time being
00:02:26 --> 00:02:29 that there's no different price changes to this
00:02:29 --> 00:02:32 whatsoever. It's a good thing for all of us that
00:02:32 --> 00:02:34 they keep the prices the same. I hope they don't
00:02:34 --> 00:02:36 actually change it, but you never really know.
00:02:36 --> 00:02:38 But at least for Battlefield 6, it looks like
00:02:38 --> 00:02:40 it's not going to be an $80 game unless you buy
00:02:40 --> 00:02:43 the deluxe premium or whatever edition they're
00:02:43 --> 00:02:46 going to be calling it for that foreseeable future.
00:02:47 --> 00:02:50 All right, moving on to crafting and aims to
00:02:50 --> 00:02:54 transform PUBG into a gameplay platform. Also,
00:02:54 --> 00:02:58 I have to note that EA is looking to put Battlefield
00:02:58 --> 00:03:02 6 as a platform, too. Similar to Fortnite and
00:03:02 --> 00:03:04 Roblox, the company's chief financial officer,
00:03:04 --> 00:03:06 I'm not even going to say his name, discussed
00:03:06 --> 00:03:10 the vision during an earnings call. Bay stated
00:03:10 --> 00:03:14 that in the age of PUBG 2 .0, the game will not
00:03:14 --> 00:03:18 just be a battle royale. Krafton is developing
00:03:18 --> 00:03:22 various modes as part of the transition. A significant
00:03:22 --> 00:03:25 aspect of this change will be and involves switching
00:03:25 --> 00:03:29 to Unreal 5, which will facilitate user generated
00:03:29 --> 00:03:34 content. Crafton has been discussing the transition
00:03:34 --> 00:03:39 to the Unreal Engine 5 since March 2024. So I
00:03:39 --> 00:03:42 also stated that EA is looking to make Battlefield
00:03:42 --> 00:03:46 6 a quote unquote platform as well. To be perfectly
00:03:46 --> 00:03:47 honest, I don't want anything to be a platform.
00:03:48 --> 00:03:50 I just want it to be a fun game. That's all I
00:03:50 --> 00:03:52 really care about. That's what all everybody
00:03:52 --> 00:03:55 really cares about. Is it a fun game or is it
00:03:55 --> 00:03:58 not a fun game? And I'm really just kind of lost
00:03:58 --> 00:04:01 at this whole like we need to build a platform.
00:04:01 --> 00:04:03 It's kind of like the multiverse or the connected
00:04:03 --> 00:04:06 universe or whatever the superhero movies do
00:04:06 --> 00:04:10 where everything has to be like a Tangent of
00:04:10 --> 00:04:13 a storyline and it worked for a certain amount
00:04:13 --> 00:04:16 of time But it just it becomes overwhelming because
00:04:16 --> 00:04:18 you have so many different superheroes just like
00:04:18 --> 00:04:21 all these quote -unquote games turning into platforms
00:04:22 --> 00:04:24 I just want a fun game. Battlefield 6 needs to
00:04:24 --> 00:04:26 be fun. I don't care if it's a platform or not.
00:04:26 --> 00:04:29 It just needs to be fun. Because that's the most
00:04:29 --> 00:04:31 important part of this. If you can't make your
00:04:31 --> 00:04:34 game fun, no one's playing it. So does it matter
00:04:34 --> 00:04:36 if it's a platform or not? Does it matter about
00:04:36 --> 00:04:38 the microtransaction, Ubisoft, I'm looking at
00:04:38 --> 00:04:41 you? Because if it's not fun, no one will play
00:04:41 --> 00:04:43 it, no one will buy it, no one will buy your
00:04:43 --> 00:04:46 stupid microtransactions. So I get it that you
00:04:46 --> 00:04:49 want to turn it into Roblox and Fortnite, but
00:04:49 --> 00:04:52 remember, They did it first. Well, Fortnite did
00:04:52 --> 00:04:55 it first. Actually, I think Roblox did it first.
00:04:55 --> 00:04:58 Fortnite followed, but there can only be so many
00:04:58 --> 00:05:01 different quote unquote platforms. And then nobody
00:05:01 --> 00:05:05 cares because they just want a fun game. That's
00:05:05 --> 00:05:10 really about it. All right. Moving on to the
00:05:10 --> 00:05:13 multiplayer reveal. So I actually did watch it.
00:05:13 --> 00:05:16 That's why I waited to actually record this episode
00:05:16 --> 00:05:18 because I could actually like watch it. I've
00:05:18 --> 00:05:22 been watching gameplay videos as well from streamers
00:05:22 --> 00:05:24 just to kind of actually see the gameplay of
00:05:24 --> 00:05:28 it, not kind of this gameplay slash CGI trailer
00:05:28 --> 00:05:30 slash easy mode because they're trying to make
00:05:30 --> 00:05:33 it cool and epic, which it was very cool and
00:05:33 --> 00:05:37 epic. My initial feelings is, well, it's good.
00:05:37 --> 00:05:41 It's a return to what it should have been when
00:05:41 --> 00:05:44 battlefield 2042 came out. Apparently it's going
00:05:44 --> 00:05:47 to be in the near future, 2027. So not too far
00:05:47 --> 00:05:50 off since it's coming out and not in actually
00:05:50 --> 00:05:53 October. So it's not too far in the distance
00:05:53 --> 00:05:57 future. There is a remastered or re -imagining
00:05:57 --> 00:06:00 a fire storm from battlefield three and battlefield
00:06:00 --> 00:06:02 four. Well, it's originally from battlefield
00:06:02 --> 00:06:07 three. And then battlefield four did basically
00:06:07 --> 00:06:10 a remake of the map and then they'll do it again.
00:06:11 --> 00:06:13 I was quite surprised they didn't put Caspian
00:06:13 --> 00:06:15 border because that's also a beloved map from
00:06:15 --> 00:06:18 battlefield three era. I also thought it might
00:06:18 --> 00:06:20 have been Gulf, Gulf of Omen, but it was Cairo.
00:06:21 --> 00:06:26 So I was like, okay, well, sure. So it looks
00:06:26 --> 00:06:27 like they're going to have several different
00:06:27 --> 00:06:32 maps are going to have rush. They have a new
00:06:32 --> 00:06:35 one called escalation, escalation, break point
00:06:35 --> 00:06:38 conquest as always death match, team death match,
00:06:39 --> 00:06:42 king of the hill. I think that's about it. The
00:06:42 --> 00:06:44 only one they don't and they still have not tried
00:06:44 --> 00:06:47 to again is Titan mode Which really is only good
00:06:47 --> 00:06:53 on battlefield 2142. So we have that Going for
00:06:53 --> 00:06:55 us a lot of different modes don't care about
00:06:55 --> 00:06:57 deathmatch or team deathmatch or king of the
00:06:57 --> 00:06:59 hill Really only care about conquest, but the
00:06:59 --> 00:07:02 other ones sound interesting. Oh, there's domination
00:07:02 --> 00:07:04 as well I forgot about that one. So you have
00:07:04 --> 00:07:07 several different modes. You have a single player
00:07:07 --> 00:07:11 again I play it once Not play it for a while
00:07:11 --> 00:07:14 again, then might play it again For the most
00:07:14 --> 00:07:15 part battlefield games. You don't really play
00:07:15 --> 00:07:17 the single player over and over again. You play
00:07:17 --> 00:07:19 it once You're like, okay, that was interesting.
00:07:19 --> 00:07:23 All right now onto the multiplayer You're also
00:07:23 --> 00:07:25 going to have classes looks like there's gonna
00:07:25 --> 00:07:28 be no There's no specialists. They all have like
00:07:28 --> 00:07:31 face coverings on their faces and it just looks
00:07:31 --> 00:07:34 like a normal soldier Which what we wanted before?
00:07:34 --> 00:07:38 stupid specialists in battlefield 2042, so they're
00:07:38 --> 00:07:41 listening to that From the gameplay I saw, there
00:07:41 --> 00:07:43 is a scoreboard. So we do have a scoreboard.
00:07:43 --> 00:07:46 There's jets, there's helicopters, there is tanks,
00:07:47 --> 00:07:50 there's Jeeps. And the interesting part about
00:07:50 --> 00:07:53 vehicles is that you can also have your squad
00:07:53 --> 00:07:56 mates hang on to the side of the vehicle to have
00:07:56 --> 00:08:00 them all be rushed over, not just forward and
00:08:00 --> 00:08:04 you're kind of like have fun running, that type
00:08:04 --> 00:08:09 of thing. Now. There is no real class specific
00:08:09 --> 00:08:11 weapons, which I wish they would have done but
00:08:11 --> 00:08:14 oh well that's Not really much you can do about
00:08:14 --> 00:08:19 that, but they do have like I said assault support
00:08:19 --> 00:08:22 engineer and recon support basically is going
00:08:22 --> 00:08:26 to be Either the medic or the resupply I think
00:08:26 --> 00:08:28 I'm not really quite sure of the resupply or
00:08:28 --> 00:08:31 not, but they are the medic Assault will actually
00:08:31 --> 00:08:35 have an additional primary weapon And you have
00:08:35 --> 00:08:38 adrenaline shot, I guess, to help you stay alive.
00:08:39 --> 00:08:41 There's a bunch of things with that. The support
00:08:41 --> 00:08:46 has, you can revive, or you have the defibs,
00:08:46 --> 00:08:48 I should say, you can revive. You can also drag
00:08:48 --> 00:08:52 a man away from the battlefield to get them revived
00:08:52 --> 00:08:56 as well. You also have the engineer that can
00:08:56 --> 00:09:00 repair. They also have mines. Apparently now
00:09:00 --> 00:09:03 you can put one mine down. So there's that as
00:09:03 --> 00:09:05 well and the recon is a recon specialist has
00:09:05 --> 00:09:10 the UVA It has the laser designator type of a
00:09:10 --> 00:09:14 thing. So just four classes not like Not like
00:09:14 --> 00:09:17 four where there was a there was five. There's
00:09:17 --> 00:09:20 a salt medic support recon and engineer There
00:09:20 --> 00:09:22 was five of them. They just basically blended
00:09:22 --> 00:09:26 support with medic So the support is now just
00:09:26 --> 00:09:28 the medic in the support because the support
00:09:28 --> 00:09:32 does do the machine guns each specific class
00:09:32 --> 00:09:36 has a trait for each for the specific category
00:09:36 --> 00:09:40 weapon so assault is better at the assault rifles
00:09:40 --> 00:09:45 engineers better at the SMGs the supports better
00:09:45 --> 00:09:50 at the LMGs and the recon is better I think at
00:09:50 --> 00:09:52 the DRMs or sniper rifles I'm not really quite
00:09:52 --> 00:09:55 sure about that one so that's just kind of the
00:09:55 --> 00:09:57 rundown now it's supposed to come out October
00:09:57 --> 00:10:00 10th and there's gonna be a beta Starting the
00:10:00 --> 00:10:02 seventh through the ninth I think it says early
00:10:02 --> 00:10:04 access and then there's gonna be a few more weeks
00:10:04 --> 00:10:07 where you can Play the actual open beta. You
00:10:07 --> 00:10:10 don't have to buy anything this time around You
00:10:10 --> 00:10:12 if you signed up for battlefield labs when they
00:10:12 --> 00:10:14 first did it or before today They would have
00:10:14 --> 00:10:16 they will give you access to the early access.
00:10:16 --> 00:10:20 I think it is or you can watch streamers probably
00:10:20 --> 00:10:25 on twitch to unlock the early access if need
00:10:25 --> 00:10:28 be so there are multiple ways to actually do
00:10:28 --> 00:10:30 this if you want their access or you can just
00:10:30 --> 00:10:33 wait and you can actually play the open beta
00:10:33 --> 00:10:35 so it should be interesting to see if it's going
00:10:35 --> 00:10:37 to be any good this is a bigger risk because
00:10:37 --> 00:10:40 they aren't doing any kind of like buy this or
00:10:40 --> 00:10:43 pre -order this to get to unlock it or unlock
00:10:43 --> 00:10:47 the beta which they've done before so we will
00:10:47 --> 00:10:50 see if this is going to be good or not because
00:10:50 --> 00:10:55 I am Happy that they've done it in this direction.
00:10:55 --> 00:10:57 I think this is great destructions back finally
00:10:57 --> 00:11:00 You can destroy most of the building if not all
00:11:00 --> 00:11:04 the building you have just it looks really pretty
00:11:04 --> 00:11:06 but I mean all battlefield games look really
00:11:06 --> 00:11:08 pretty I mean look at battlefield one still looks
00:11:08 --> 00:11:11 great today. So I mean that's not like a big
00:11:11 --> 00:11:16 criteria But it does look like it's going the
00:11:16 --> 00:11:19 right direction It does look like it's back to
00:11:19 --> 00:11:23 form. I really wish they would have just done
00:11:23 --> 00:11:27 Class specific weapons, but oh well Can't get
00:11:27 --> 00:11:29 everything you want. They do have a firing range
00:11:29 --> 00:11:32 in this now So if you want to test out your builds,
00:11:33 --> 00:11:35 you can go in the firing range and test it out
00:11:35 --> 00:11:37 Which is a nice thing. It's basically taking
00:11:37 --> 00:11:40 from Delta Force what Delta Force did you can
00:11:40 --> 00:11:43 also Customize your weapon. You have about a
00:11:43 --> 00:11:47 hundred points and each one has a varying Amounts
00:11:47 --> 00:11:51 of points to do it to put on your weapon. So
00:11:51 --> 00:11:55 There you go. There is some type of Omni movement,
00:11:55 --> 00:11:59 but not really It's very interesting. You can
00:11:59 --> 00:12:03 slide you can obviously go prone you can Looks
00:12:03 --> 00:12:05 like jump out of a window. It looked like someone
00:12:05 --> 00:12:07 was running and jumped out of a window and rolled
00:12:07 --> 00:12:10 So that was that was interesting to see that
00:12:10 --> 00:12:14 one So it looks like there's a slide still there,
00:12:14 --> 00:12:17 but it's not as like crazy as battlefields. I
00:12:17 --> 00:12:22 mean, black ops six was when the army, they released
00:12:22 --> 00:12:24 the army movement. I wasn't really a big fan
00:12:24 --> 00:12:26 of it. It was kind of annoying and just, it seemed
00:12:26 --> 00:12:29 like more of a gimmick than actually really anything
00:12:29 --> 00:12:33 good, but people are still playing it. So more
00:12:33 --> 00:12:37 props to them. So that's all we really know about
00:12:37 --> 00:12:41 it until I can get my hands on it front on August
00:12:41 --> 00:12:44 next month, which is really, really soon. I think
00:12:44 --> 00:12:47 it's the seventh. So about next week really won't
00:12:47 --> 00:12:50 know much. I think I'll be able to get early
00:12:50 --> 00:12:52 access. I'm not really quite sure how they're
00:12:52 --> 00:12:54 going to do it. To be honest with you, I might
00:12:54 --> 00:12:55 just have to watch a streamer like everybody
00:12:55 --> 00:12:58 else, but it looks like everything's in the right
00:12:58 --> 00:13:03 direction. Now we'll see when we actually play
00:13:03 --> 00:13:05 it. And I actually play it because I mean, Even
00:13:05 --> 00:13:08 at these events that they do with a big spectacle
00:13:08 --> 00:13:10 and everybody's gonna be excited It's gonna be
00:13:10 --> 00:13:12 fun and then and then it really gets into the
00:13:12 --> 00:13:14 nitty -gritty of like is it really fun? Is it
00:13:14 --> 00:13:18 really back to form? to me it seems like it is
00:13:18 --> 00:13:23 but I'm just watching either streamers play or
00:13:23 --> 00:13:27 I'm having the dev create a real in game and
00:13:27 --> 00:13:32 then CGI kind of differences with it, so You
00:13:32 --> 00:13:37 really don't know Alright moving on to NetEase
00:13:37 --> 00:13:39 and well, they're gonna be start monitoring your
00:13:39 --> 00:13:43 in -game chat So if you are a foul -mouthed person
00:13:43 --> 00:13:46 that says foul -mouth things This game is not
00:13:46 --> 00:13:49 for you, but it seems like everybody and their
00:13:49 --> 00:13:52 mother is doing this stupid thing because It's
00:13:52 --> 00:13:55 2025 I guess I don't really know I would rather
00:13:55 --> 00:13:58 you not monitor my chats I'd rather you just
00:13:58 --> 00:14:00 make a good game and like leave me the hell alone.
00:14:01 --> 00:14:03 If someone doesn't want to listen, which I've
00:14:03 --> 00:14:06 done before I mute them I don't need you hand
00:14:06 --> 00:14:09 -holding me. There's no point to this. It just
00:14:09 --> 00:14:12 adds more resources to you guys. That's the funny
00:14:12 --> 00:14:14 part about development. They whine about how
00:14:14 --> 00:14:16 expensive it is, but then they do these extra
00:14:16 --> 00:14:18 stupid little things that no one really wants.
00:14:18 --> 00:14:20 And they're like, well, it's so expensive, the
00:14:20 --> 00:14:22 production and the development costs. And I'm
00:14:22 --> 00:14:25 like, well, then stop doing all the extra stuff.
00:14:26 --> 00:14:28 Focus in on the game. Focus on making the games.
00:14:28 --> 00:14:31 Focus in on making tools. So if we don't want
00:14:31 --> 00:14:38 to avoid or... mute somebody we can but come
00:14:38 --> 00:14:40 on you're playing a competitive game it's going
00:14:40 --> 00:14:44 to get frustrating it's going to get spicy because
00:14:44 --> 00:14:46 that's what competitive games do if you don't
00:14:46 --> 00:14:49 want a competitive game if you don't want if
00:14:49 --> 00:14:53 you don't want spicy chat don't make a competitive
00:14:53 --> 00:14:56 game make a non -competitive game which i don't
00:14:56 --> 00:14:58 know what really that would do or what that is
00:14:58 --> 00:15:01 but that's my issue with this Now they're gonna
00:15:01 --> 00:15:03 start monitoring or they already started monitoring
00:15:03 --> 00:15:10 july 24 2025 so be prepared everybody They also
00:15:10 --> 00:15:13 introduced custom word filters will be introduced
00:15:13 --> 00:15:15 in three and a half or season three and a half
00:15:15 --> 00:15:19 so With blade coming to marvel rivals that will
00:15:19 --> 00:15:23 do that as well. So be prepared to be banned
00:15:23 --> 00:15:25 if you say naughty naughty things that you're
00:15:25 --> 00:15:30 not supposed to say because bad person Bad person.
00:15:31 --> 00:15:33 I get with kids that you want to have filters
00:15:33 --> 00:15:35 with this and I'm more fine with that but this
00:15:35 --> 00:15:38 is just not what we need. That's what really
00:15:38 --> 00:15:43 killed Overwatch as well. Is that no one wanted
00:15:43 --> 00:15:44 to be in chat because no one wants to be banned
00:15:44 --> 00:15:47 for saying something wrong or potentially saying
00:15:47 --> 00:15:49 something wrong and that's the issue is that
00:15:49 --> 00:15:51 you just don't know if you're gonna say something
00:15:51 --> 00:15:53 right or gonna say something wrong. So I have
00:15:53 --> 00:15:56 an issue, a big issue with this and I wish that
00:15:56 --> 00:15:59 they would not do this. Do something else. way
00:15:59 --> 00:16:02 more important than this. Call of Duty does this.
00:16:02 --> 00:16:03 Battlefield does, or I'm pretty sure is going
00:16:03 --> 00:16:07 to be doing it. Overwatch does this. Nobody talks
00:16:07 --> 00:16:10 because nobody wants to be banned for saying
00:16:10 --> 00:16:13 something that is naughty at the time or banable.
00:16:13 --> 00:16:16 So no one talks because no one really wants to
00:16:16 --> 00:16:21 deal with it. Okay. I didn't know if I wanted
00:16:21 --> 00:16:24 to talk about this or not, but I think it is
00:16:24 --> 00:16:27 important to talk about this. So... There's this
00:16:27 --> 00:16:29 huge thing with collective shout, which is a
00:16:29 --> 00:16:32 feminist group in Australia I think and they
00:16:32 --> 00:16:37 got mad because steam has Well porn games you
00:16:37 --> 00:16:39 see it all the time in the top charts. There's
00:16:39 --> 00:16:43 a lot of porn games on the top charts. I I don't
00:16:43 --> 00:16:44 get any because I think it's stupid and a waste
00:16:44 --> 00:16:47 of time But hey more power to you if that's what
00:16:47 --> 00:16:48 you want to spend your money on I don't really
00:16:48 --> 00:16:52 care about that and then they went to itch .io
00:16:52 --> 00:16:54 and they started removing because collective
00:16:54 --> 00:16:57 shout Basically complain to Visa MasterCard all
00:16:57 --> 00:16:59 the credit card companies and they basically
00:16:59 --> 00:17:01 told steam and all them that you have to remove
00:17:01 --> 00:17:04 these games or you will not be able to accept
00:17:04 --> 00:17:08 credit cards, which is a major problem with Digital
00:17:08 --> 00:17:11 services like these because you need to do it.
00:17:11 --> 00:17:13 You can't just like put your dollar bill in your
00:17:13 --> 00:17:16 computer. It won't work that way So they started
00:17:16 --> 00:17:18 removing it and everybody's like what the hell
00:17:18 --> 00:17:21 like why why is this happening? Why is this game
00:17:21 --> 00:17:25 removed now? I'm not in favor of porn games.
00:17:25 --> 00:17:27 I think they're stupid. I think they're a waste
00:17:27 --> 00:17:31 of time. However, I'm not in favor of credit
00:17:31 --> 00:17:34 card companies picking and choosing what you
00:17:34 --> 00:17:36 can and cannot play. If you're an adult, you
00:17:36 --> 00:17:39 should be able to play what you can and cannot
00:17:39 --> 00:17:42 play. If you're a kid, that's a different issue.
00:17:43 --> 00:17:45 And parents should be on top of this. And you
00:17:45 --> 00:17:49 should have the tools basically already in place
00:17:49 --> 00:17:52 to filter out those things. If they're not 18,
00:17:52 --> 00:17:54 you need to have tools for this. You need to
00:17:54 --> 00:17:56 monitor your kids. You need to make sure that
00:17:56 --> 00:17:58 they're on the family account so you can monitor
00:17:58 --> 00:18:00 the games that they're playing and make sure
00:18:00 --> 00:18:02 that they're on that so you know which games
00:18:02 --> 00:18:04 they're playing at the same time too. Be their
00:18:04 --> 00:18:06 friends on Steam. I don't really care, but do
00:18:06 --> 00:18:10 your best to monitor the situation. What I don't
00:18:10 --> 00:18:12 want is credit card companies picking and choosing
00:18:12 --> 00:18:14 which games are fine now, which games are not
00:18:14 --> 00:18:16 because they could just be coming for Battlefield
00:18:16 --> 00:18:19 or whatever eventually because It's the flavor
00:18:19 --> 00:18:22 of the month of terrible games that you should
00:18:22 --> 00:18:24 not be playing, but you actually like to play
00:18:24 --> 00:18:28 because that's what you want to play. Now, in
00:18:28 --> 00:18:31 the United States, the courts have decided that
00:18:31 --> 00:18:34 you can regulate porn. The courts have decided
00:18:34 --> 00:18:36 this because it's really not a collective good.
00:18:36 --> 00:18:38 It's not a collective good at all. It doesn't
00:18:38 --> 00:18:40 really do anything for you. It actually more
00:18:40 --> 00:18:44 harms you than does anything. But like I said,
00:18:44 --> 00:18:47 your life, do whatever you want to do with this,
00:18:47 --> 00:18:51 but... my main concern is whatever his main concern
00:18:51 --> 00:18:54 is. It's not about the porn. It's about what
00:18:54 --> 00:18:58 these companies say that you can and cannot play.
00:19:00 --> 00:19:02 Like, you're not my parent, Visa. You're not
00:19:02 --> 00:19:05 my parent, MasterCard. You're a brand, but you're
00:19:05 --> 00:19:07 a credit card company first. And you shouldn't
00:19:07 --> 00:19:11 be dictating what I play. That's not for you
00:19:11 --> 00:19:14 to decide. That's for me to decide. I'm the adult.
00:19:14 --> 00:19:17 I get to decide. what I want to play and if I
00:19:17 --> 00:19:19 don't want to play it, I don't buy it. That's
00:19:19 --> 00:19:22 the best way of doing it. And they used to do
00:19:22 --> 00:19:25 this for a long while. They just didn't seem
00:19:25 --> 00:19:28 to care. But then all of a sudden the feminists
00:19:28 --> 00:19:31 decided to get mad at this. I don't really know
00:19:31 --> 00:19:32 why they got mad at this, but they got mad at
00:19:32 --> 00:19:35 it because I guess Steam had the, a lot of the
00:19:35 --> 00:19:40 top games on Steam are porn games. It's weird,
00:19:40 --> 00:19:43 but a lot of them, I've seen on like the top
00:19:43 --> 00:19:45 charts or the best selling sometimes are like
00:19:45 --> 00:19:48 three or four porn games. It's weird And they're
00:19:48 --> 00:19:50 varying degrees of porn games because there's
00:19:50 --> 00:19:52 a lot and apparently a lot of developers make
00:19:52 --> 00:19:53 a whole bunch of them I don't think they take
00:19:53 --> 00:19:55 a lot of time to develop. That's probably why
00:19:55 --> 00:19:59 they do it and they get a lot of money. So They're
00:19:59 --> 00:20:01 not that expensive either. So you could see why
00:20:01 --> 00:20:03 that they actually are on the top of the list
00:20:03 --> 00:20:06 all the time because No one's dating. No one's
00:20:06 --> 00:20:10 really Having sex with each other really mostly
00:20:10 --> 00:20:13 the Gen Z is not doing that I understand why
00:20:13 --> 00:20:19 a lot of the guys aren't doing it but Visa Mascard
00:20:19 --> 00:20:23 shouldn't be doing this Have filters on it have
00:20:23 --> 00:20:25 tools for parents to monitor their kids if they're
00:20:25 --> 00:20:30 under 18 if they're over 18 well Buy what you
00:20:30 --> 00:20:34 want. It's not It's not my issue. It's not my
00:20:34 --> 00:20:37 problem. I don't really care But I don't want
00:20:37 --> 00:20:39 companies dictating and that should be our main
00:20:39 --> 00:20:43 concern Well, what do you think do you think
00:20:43 --> 00:20:45 it's fine that car -to -car companies just willy
00:20:45 --> 00:20:48 -nilly say what we can cannot buy or do you agree
00:20:48 --> 00:20:50 with me? Let me know in the comments below, but
00:20:50 --> 00:20:52 thank you for listening to digital coffee gaming
00:20:52 --> 00:20:55 brew. I really do appreciate it. Enjoy me Next
00:20:55 --> 00:20:57 week as I talk about what's going on in the gaming
00:20:57 --> 00:21:00 industry Alright guys guys stay safe get to playing

00:21:05 --> 00:21:06 see you next week. Later.
